Update [Sat 28th Oct, 2023 04:30 BST]:
As promised, 343 Industries has now shared the full patch notes for this most recent Halo Infinite update. Here they are in full (via Halo Waypoint):
Halo Infinite Patch (26th October 2023)
RESOLVED ISSUES
The following changes were made in the October 26, 2023, patch.
- Enabling Vsync on PCs with a refresh rate 120Hz or higher will no longer restrict the max framerate.
- The UTIL/PRO-Tek ComNet-2020 Shoulder Pads and the TAC/SCM-P Knee Pads for the Mirage IIC Armor Core now appear correctly.
- The bundles containing these two items, the ComNet and Erinyes bundles, will become available for purchase again via the Armor Hall menu next week. Submit a ticket if you would like a Halo Support agent to reach out directly when these bundles are available again.
- If you purchased either bundle while these items were appearing incorrectly, the development team will be granting you the Credits you spent on purchasing this bundle. This grant will not revoke your ownership of the bundle contents. Submit a ticket if you would like a Halo Support agent to reach out directly when this grant is complete.
- Improved stability in the Customize menus, such as the Armor Hall and Weapons Bench.
- Selecting multiple objects or prefabs in Forge Edit mode now has less of an impact on game performance.
Thank you to all players who submitted a ticket on these or other in-game issues. Stay tuned to @HaloSupport on Twitter for the latest news on upcoming releases.
KNOWN ISSUES
Alongside this update, the team has added two new issues to our Known Issues list:
- When picking up the Bandit Evo, the weapon’s scope is not visible. When this issue occurs, the scope can be used normally.
- This issue does not occur when spawning with the Bandit Evo as your primary starting weapon.
- A recent NVIDIA driver is causing some players on PC to experience extended loading screens when launching Halo Infinite.
- Workaround: If you have an NVIDIA graphics card and you’re experiencing this issue, roll back to driver version 537.58.
- The development team is working with NVIDIA to ensure this shader caching issue is resolved in a future NVIDIA graphics driver update.
DOWNLOAD SIZE
- Xbox consoles: approximately 3.9 GB or less.
- Microsoft Store app or Xbox app on PC: approximately 5.2 or less.
- Steam: approximately 1.1 GB or less.
Original article [Wed 25th Oct, 2023 07:30 BST]:
After a successful Season 5: Reckoning launch last week, 343 Industries is now planning to patch some minor issues in Halo Infinite.
According to a brief update via the Halo Support social media account, there will be improvements to Vsync for monitors running at 120Hz or higher, and along with this are some stability updates and improvements in Forge.
"A #HaloInfinite patch is expected to release on Thursday, Oct 26. This update includes Vsync improvements on monitors with a refresh rate of 120Hz or higher, Armor Hall stability, & improvements when selecting items in Forge. Stay tuned for patch notes when this update launches."
As noted, Spartans should stay tuned for full patch notes, when this update officially rolls out on October 26th.
Earlier on, 343 also rolled out some backend updates. One was tied to the playlists and another was related to the Bots in multiplayer. To receive the changes, relaunch the game. Here's the rundown from the same account:
"Two playlist updates related to the Extraction game mode occurred via a backend update today:
• Forbidden and Prism 24/7: Extraction on both maps has been added to the playlist. Extraction is weighted higher than other modes in the playlist, meaning it will be seen more often than other modes.
• Quick Play: Extraction on Solitude has been removed from the playlist due to a bug, Extraction on Streets has been added to the playlist.""Earlier today, the 343 Bots in #HaloInfinite Multiplayer were updated to use Multi-Core helmets & newer customization items, including some that appear in future Operation passes and Shop bundles. If you're currently playing, relaunch the game to ensure you receive this change."
How are you finding Season 5 so far? Have you tried out the new AI toolkit in Forge yet? Tell us in the comments.

Season 5 has been a mixed bag. On the one hand it's great to get new content. On the other, games have been pretty challenging a lot of the time.
@ParsnipHero
It’s a double-edged sword:
The feedback from the sweats over the last two years has helped to keep the game relevant and ongoing, even while the rumors were circulating about the game being shut down completely, and that same feedback seemingly had a big impact on where the game is today and how it’s somewhat started to recover from its losses.
At the same time, however:
The sweats who provided the feedback and stayed with the game even when its future was uncertain, are the same group of sweats that are so good at the game, even when so many are getting back into it and are potentially a little rusty, that the skill barrier for enjoying multiplayer, or at least the perception of a skill barrier, is so high now that it puts a lot of people off from playing the game, especially since a lot of those original Halo fans were there for the social and/or party aspects of the trilogy.
@AccessibleDaydream that’s fair and all but I’ve played every single week since launch and both test flights. That doesn’t make me any good and I can’t keep up.
@ParsnipHero Oh, I totally agree! I’ve played regularly ever since the insider flights two years ago as well, and it’s difficult to not want to stop playing it at times because it feels like I’m constantly at a disadvantage.
At this point, I’ve all but settled for it being a skill issue on my part…
@Utena-mobile I've noticed that too. Almost like the more I play the worse I do? Maybe the game needs better skill matching?
@AccessibleDaydream I hear ya. It wouldn’t be so bad though if social games had a less dialled in SBMM though. Social shouldn’t be so competitive.
I personally feel my biggest issue is I can’t get my aim settings just right. I don’t have issues in other games but Infinite is definitely a perplexing one.
@ParsnipHero Yeah, I get that. I don’t know what it is about Infinite, but MCC seems to have aiming that’s less floaty and more sticky?
I’m really not sure if that makes sense, and I understand it was a intentional decision to ‘modernize’ Halo gameplay, but I almost prefer MCC (specifically Halo 3) at this point, and it saddens me that the servers seem to be barely populated compared to even a few months ago.
@AccessibleDaydream yea, I never really noticed it before. I took a long break from Halo and played games like BF4, Titanfall 2 and Apex Legends in that time. Never been one for CoD.
I come back to Halo Infinite and the aiming is different. Whenever I go back to MCC, which is rarely, I played Halo 4.
I'm probably going to reduce my amount of time playing Halo Infinite until the SSBM gets a little looser. Ideally I'm looking to move away from GaaS I get too easily addicted to the grind instead of playing for the fun of it. Although I say that you watch and they go and drop 4 more classic maps into Squad Battle today and I'll be hooked again.
Looking forward to playing Jusant though. That looks like a non-GaaS I can actually enjoy.
@ParsnipHero Sometimes I notice that after an update some of the settings will occasionally reset, so that might be something for both of us to look into.
Also, as for GaaS, I don’t really like them because I tend to get bored of them. I’ll start playing a new one, get super into it, maybe even give it my all for one or two seasons, and then I tend to drop them as if I’ve never even heard of them.
I also tend to be way too competitive, because for whatever reason, my brain tends to think that if I’m not the best at something or if I’m not at least getting better, then what is even the point?
Battle Passes are an issue for me too, both in terms of financial issues and lack of income making it so that I have to sacrifice other things and/or overdraft my account like I do all too often, and in terms of time and effort being overwhelmed and getting nothing done, and then running out of time on the pass.
@AccessibleDaydream yea, I understand there. It’s a terrible cycle and SBMM these days is pushing people to have to play at their best every game.
I’m not one for single player games honestly. I play online games because tend to be the most interesting opponents but I do feel I’m getting too old for constant competition. Plus the grind takes me away from my wife a lot of the time. She’s happy playing her games and whatnot but recently I’ve been playing other games like the new Mario game and we’ve enjoyed doing that.
End of the day time is really important too.
