Just last month, the team behind Oceanhorn 2: Knights of the Lost Realm dropped an impressive set of new screenshots, but at the time, we weren't any wiser on when the open world adventure would be making its way to Xbox. Now, seemingly out of nowhere the developer has announced an Xbox Series X|S launch date of August 2nd!
Yep, Oceanhorn 2's launch is right around the corner, and ahead of next week's release you can take a fresh look at the game via the brand new launch trailer up above.
The developer says that "this complete version offers sharper graphics at 4K/60FPS and includes all QoL and content updates made for the game". However, we don't know the tech specs for the Xbox Series S version specifically - we'll have to wait and see what the game looks like at launch.
If you're intrigued by Oceanhorn 2 after seeing this new footage, here's a brief rundown on what to expect:
"Bigger, better, and packed with new features – Oceanhorn 2 is not only one of the best-looking adventure games out there, but it also builds a unique experience on the shoulder of classic video games. Collect powerful items, wield the Caster Gun, solve the mysterious puzzles of the ancients, and discover all that Arcadia and its neighboring kingdoms have to offer! Accept the challenge and become a true hero."

It’s definitely one of the best looking ocean horn games
So far I love everything about this. Definitely one to keep an eye on. The first Oceanhorn was also good.
I'm curious if the publisher is expecting anyone to still pay $30 for this 4-year-old Apple Arcade leftover. I liked the first one, but this one's release platform (in addition to it's age) makes this a sub-$10 purchase for me. Besides, the Deku Deals sales history for the 3-year-old Switch version tells me that patience is rewarded for this series.
I bought the original Ocean Horn on sale the other day. I am hoping it hooks me in so I can enjoy the sequel when it comes out also.
@Kaloudz @Markatron84 Worth giving a go as you might feel differently, but I played this on Apple Arcade and was pretty disappointed. Personally I much preferred Oceanhorn 1.
It did look incredible for a mobile game but the sequel just felt very shallow, like it was aping Zelda without understanding the spirit of it. At times it was frustrating too. I don't think I even finished it, which is rare for me.
I know its a decision the developers have made but the one thing keeping me from clicking with this game is that there's no manual jump button that I can press when I want to jump, its automatic, and it just feels very off and wrong, especially in a Zelda-like. Maybe I'm just spoiled by so many modern games, but this just doesn't vibe with me.
Game looks beautiful though! Hope everyone playing enjoys their time.
