It feels like we've been waiting forever for Starfield to hit Xbox Game Pass, and even though the wait is almost over, it isn't stopping us from getting incredibly jealous of today's news that some of the folks working on the game are already well into their Starfield playthroughs.
As spotted by Idle Sloth on Twitter, Xbox's Phil Spencer, Bethesda's Pete Hines and another mystery profile in the image below have all been playing some Starfield as of late - roughly two months before launch.
Now, this doesn't mean that they've been playing together, or at the same time or anything like that - the above image simply shows that these three profiles connected to Idle Sloth's account have been playing the game in some fashion.
We're actually quite surprised that playtime like this isn't hidden to the public, or maybe played on alternate accounts or something. But, Phil & co. don't seem too bothered about us all knowing about their early Starfield playtime!
Even if this revelation feels like a cruel tease at this stage, at least we don't have long to wait to go hands-on for ourselves. Starfield hits Xbox Series X|S and PC on September 6th, or even earlier if you upgrade to the higher tier versions of the game.

I'm currently playing through Scalebound. Phil Spencer is such a nice guy, I'm the only person in the world who he's allowed to have early access to it.
@Solidchief You're not meant to just outright tell us. You're supposed to wear a Scalebound t-shirt and just let the internet jump to conclusions.
This is my next big game of 2023. Ready to play it as I'll be done with TotK, by then!

Nope. I’ll wait for the official launch date. I have waited this long, another few days isn’t gonna hurt. One of the reasons I have a massive game collection is because I have always been smart with my game purchases and made my money go as far as it can. It’s pretty easy to do when you have a little patience.
@RIghteousNixon @InfamousOrange yep already ordered it. I get what you're saying infamous but it also comes with the expansion and I would have bought that anyway. This is the first time I have ever bought their little upgrade for a gamepass title.

@RIghteousNixon I hear ya! Still waiting on RE4 Remake to go on sale or find someone whos selling it cheap on OfferUp or something. I seldom will buy a game on release these days. Starfield will be one of them.
@VisitingComet1 I was back and forth for a bit, but I think I'm gonna be playing this game for a long time and will pause my game pass subscription for a time anyways. My partner is going to a wedding that I opted out of and now I have nothing to do labor day weekend, might as well get the game early! lol
@InfamousOrange I bought the early access to it simply because I couldn’t take time off work on 6th September so I will happily be playing it five days earlier.
Managed to get it for £18 from the Iceland (I think) Xbox store. So almost half price.

Yep, Game Pass all the way. I will eventually buy a physical copy of the game if it’s as good as I am suspecting, but it will be way down the road when there is a complete edition on sale for cheap.
