In and amongst all of the Starfield madness today, the teams at Xbox and Bethesda opened up the game's pre-orders and have revealed some extra editions of the upcoming RPG. Oh, and some of those editions grant players with five days of early access!
Yep, you'll be able to go hands on with Starfield a full five days ahead of the general release date if you pick up either the Premium Edition of the game (available digitally) or the physical 'Constellation Edition'. If the latter sounds appealing, here are the physical extras included in the CE:
- Starfield Chronomark Watch and Case
- SteelBook Display Case
- Constellation Patch
- Credit Stick with Laser-Etched Game Code
Please note that some external links on this page are affiliate links, which means if you click them and make a purchase we may receive a small percentage of the sale. Please read our FTC Disclosure for more information.
As for the Premium Edition, that one contains the game plus all of the digital goodies from the Constellation Edition. Here are all of the digital extras included in both packages:
- Shattered Space Story Expansion
- 5 days early access
- Constellation Skin Pack: Equinox Laser Rifle, Spacesuit, Helmet and Boost Pack
- Access to Starfield Digital Artbook & Original Soundtrack
If you're planning on playing Starfield through Xbox Game Pass, you'll be able to upgrade to the digital Premium Edition too! For $31.49 / £31.49 (which includes a 10% Game Pass discount), you can purchase the 'Starfield Premium Edition Upgrade' to add on to the standard version of the game that'll be included with Game Pass at launch.
Will you be tempted to play Starfield 5 days early? Let us know which edition you're grabbing down below.

Guess now that Sony's doing all their first party collector's editions with digital codes, Microsoft is wanting to do the same.
I just love the way the ‘physical’ most expensive versions of games these days don’t have a physical copy included. Absolute joke.
Gotta bleed the money out of those Games Pass subscribers somehow!
Is the Constellation Edition going to be available in the UK, @Kezelpaso? If so, do you know where and when I can order it? Thanks...
£34.99 to upgrade is an amazing price and play 5 days early an absolute bargain
And i should definitely have enough game pass Microsoft points to buy a gift card to upgrade so I don't have to pay by debit card
Can't wait to play this
I was gonna get this anyway. So the 5 day early access is just a perk.
Is it possible to preorder the Constellation version? I cant find it.
I did the Game Pass upgrade to Premium for FH5, think I may be tempted to do it for this although depends what the expansion is like.
FH5 it gave access to the two big DLCs, so was worth it.
Guess maybe save my Reward points till then...
@Fiendish-Beaver We've seen US stores add it but not UK just yet. Id expect it to start going live tomorrow - keep your eyes on the GAME site would be my bet!
I can all but guarantee that this will be a 30 FPS game and I kind of expect it to be. With the size and scope of the game, I’m not sure it would be feasible to get 60 FPS on any console or PC without some really steep resolution cuts. Even Digital Foundry has said they expect 30 FPS.
If it runs a smooth 30 FPS, I’ll be a happy camper.
It looks like the Constellation edition is sold out. No link to purchase.
@MidnightDragonDX They have had the same option for Forza and other games, previously. The premium "PlayAnwhere" 5 -day early access versions are always $99.99. When all the 1st party games were pledged to launch day-one in Game Pass, there needed to be an option for members who would like to buy the premium access. The price is always around $35-40 for the premium update.
In the "Game Profile" on the right side of the screen (in green), it states "also available for PS4, PS5". Why does it state that? It's not. Update this.
Oh, a physical edition really comes? I thought Microsoft almost forgot about Disc's. Maybe I'll buy this.
I'm 100% buying that upgrade.
I really don’t like them charging for early access and splitting the community. It makes “Play Day 1 with Game Pass” a lie. “Play day 6 with Game pass” is the reality. Dirty business.
@Fiendish-Beaver https://www.game.co.uk/en/games/starfield/?cm_sp=homepage--banner0--Starfield (!!!)
$300?
yikes!
Too much for just a watch and no disk.
Honestly I'm surprised it came with the game. Companies are all about charging $500 for collectors edition and not giving you the game in it. Really disgusting.
You're a star, @Kezelpaso. Thank you, matey. I have now ordered mine. Really appreciate the heads-up!
This will go nicely with my Fallout 76 full-sized helmet, and my Fallout 5 Pipboy (plus many others!).
Knowing Bethesda If you get in 5 days early then you won't get the Day 1 patch that'll stop it crashing on the first mission.
@BBB But we already know it's 30fps
