One of the more left-field announcements during Xbox's summer showcase this year was Microsoft's collaboration with Porsche on a bunch of custom Xbox Series X consoles. As is to be expected at this point, these are only available via a sweepstakes competition and you can't buy them, but Microsoft has now at least fully revealed all six designs.
The six consoles are viewable in all their glory up above, and they're based off the following cult classic Porsche racing designs:
- 75th Anniversary / Porsche 963
- Salzburg (1970)
- “Hippie” (1970)
- “Pink Pig” (1971)
- Porsche Racing Edition (1978)
- 911 GT1 (1998)
Here's the word straight from Xbox on the reasoning behind this unexpected collab:
"Xbox and its fanbase are no stranger to Porsche and the incredible capabilities of its high-performance vehicles in our beloved racing and driving games like Forza Horizon 5.
That’s why we’re excited to team up with the renowned sports car brand to create special edition Xbox hardware that celebrates their milestone anniversary given our shared vision and goal of reaching global audiences who love cars, gaming and self-expression."
Even though Xbox mentions 'global audiences' in that statement there, the competition is seemingly only available to fans in the US, UK and Germany. You can try your hand at winning one of these via the Porsche Xbox Sweepstakes website if you live in one of those three nations.
