Annapurna Interactive has announced today that it's working on a brand-new Blade Runner game that will "bring the revered franchise back to games for the first time in 25 years" - being developed for consoles as well as PC!
Blade Runner 2033: Labyrinth is an internally developed project from Annapurna, and although we don't have a release date yet, the game's Steam page reveals a bit more about the premise of the game:
"Set between the original film and 2049, Blade Runner 2033 takes place after the events of the Black Out and asks: what does a Blade Runner do when there are no Replicants left to hunt?"
We don't know much else about the game right now, but Annapurna says that more details will be revealed in the coming months, so we'll be keeping a close eye on any developments throughout the rest of the year and beyond.
If you're curious, the most recent Blade Runner game was released all the way back in November 1997, although it did end up receiving an "Enhanced Edition" for Xbox last year. It's a franchise that's definitely overdue an entirely new game!

Great news! I love Blade Runner game from 1997 so I'm definitely keeping an interest on this.
Oooooh. Interesting. Looking forward to see how it turns out.
@BeerIsAwesome There was a very... very bad remaster recently.
I remember playing the old Bladerunner game when I was a kid. Had no idea what I was doing or that it was based on a movie but I enjoyed it.
YES! YES! YES!
OMG! I love Blade Runner so much!
@BeerIsAwesome fair enough... what we talking about again? oh wait I meant the Command and Conquer... that were actually good, yea that's what I meant!
I'm cautiously excited.
I hope this game doesn't try to ride the coat tails of Cyberpunk 2077. And I hope the developers take some inspiration from Philip K. Dick's book which the (both excellent) movies were loosely based on, there was so much world-building in that novel that could be further fleshed-out in a video game.
I hope to god this ends up being a 3rd person detective game set in the blade runner universe.
I also hope we’re not years away from getting whatever it does turn out to be. I can’t believe the blade runner ip has been ignored in gaming for so long.
On a side note, what the hell happened to The Last night???
