Although it has had some difficult periods, the Halo Infinite Multiplayer live service has continued to evolve over the past year - with the arrival of Season 3 not long ago.
Now that we're in May, 343 Industries has announced it will be releasing a new update on 10th May. Players can expect this update to include "community-requested" QoL improvements, Sandbox tuning updates, and a number of bug fixes.
One of the many highlights on Xbox consoles is the addition of an FPS Counter option. Here's a bit about it:
"Not only does this provide great contextual information for you while playing in a match, but it’s also vital for Forgers looking to build maps that have steady performance (framerate). Allowing Forgers this extra bit of insight should help them create quality maps that feel even more smooth to slay on."
Apart from this, players can expect mode updates - including the return of Halo 5 fan-favourite Super Fiesta. This will include the campaign's unique weapon variants and fully upgraded equipment entering the Arena.
Ranked King of the Hill is getting an adjustment where the hill will now spawn faster at the start of a match, and no longer has a "wind-up" time when a Spartan enters the space.
In terms of Sandbox balance tuning - players can expect balance adjustments to the Disruptor, Spike Grenades, Dynamo Grenades and the new Shroud Screen, where in Ranked Arena it will have just 1 charge upon pickup.
Forge mode will also undergo some QoL updates on PC and console, including improvements to the stability of scripting and there'll be some UXUI changes across Halo Infinite - including some "highly requested improvements" to the game's menus - improving accessibility, visibility of certain options and navigation.
Last but not least, there'll also be a number of bug fixes and various server and client stability improvements to reduce crashes. A full version of these patch notes will be released on 10th May, so be on the lookout for an update then.
A new event 'Site Unseen' is also currently taking place until 16th May - it includes a free 10-tier event pass:

So they add this but not splitscreen campaign like they promised. Shameful way to do business.
@Tasuki I can imagine a FPS counter is way easier and less taxing then splitscreen co-op.
lol that’s cute , it’s like they’re treating their home platform as secondary to PC now. for players that play on PC , what do we have to look forward to ?
Forge should be a tool for making games, not maps. Like Little Big Planet or Dreams but for FPS.
Halo Infinite should just get rid of the seasons and do an entire relaunch with new single player and multiplayer content.
Can people just drop the whole "They didn't add Split Screen Co-Op!"...
None of you were going to actually play split screen, who the hell wants to play with their screen all smushed like that??
Halo Infinite is pretty much a free game (with Game Pass), So just play with your friend on your own screens and use a mic... You do that with every other game.
We have came A LONG WAY since Halo Combat Evolved, where split screen was a very regular thing.
Back then we did not even have online multiplayer. We were playing those Blood Gulch rounds split screen using a quarter of the screen, or over a system link if you were really fancy with it.
No way would we play Multiplayer with only a quarter of the screen nowadays.
People still b*tching about this whole co-op split screen sh*t, are the same ones crying that Halo should not have running in it haha
@CaptainCluck Relaunch with a whole new single player??
That would just be a new game at that point haha.
Agreed that they really should cut the seasons though and just call everything up to this point in Halo Infinite, "Early Access".
The game certainly was not finished when they launched it... and the rate at which they are releasing MP maps, I feel like most games in early access put out maps at the same pace or faster than what Halo Infinite has been able to do sadly.
Halo infinite is really a great game both in compain and multiplayer but the gaming community is full of cry babies that wont try it because media hate it
@BrilliantBill thats the thing.... I think gaming community is so toxic, just play the games, im not even a big fannof halo multiplayer but infinite multiplayer (i play the story) is lot of fun for me so many modes maps and community maps is fun what do you want? Oh leak of content in season 1.... Ok now you have a lot why not play it and enjoy it its free?
@Stoned_Patrol I personally couldn't care less about splitscreen co-op, but I really do miss local splitscreen multi-player matches with friends and family in the same living room. We're playing on the most powerful hardware and the biggest displays in the history of the hobby, and the reason local multi-player isn't included anymore has nothing to do with technical limitations but rather Microsoft's ability to gate and control user experiences by limiting them to online-only. It ALWAYS comes down to the $$$.
@Stoned_Patro Don't get me wrong, I have two Series Xs so my girlfriend and I don't have to split screen.
That said, I take my Xbox everywhere and hang out. Can't tell you how many people wanna hop in and split screen some of the "new Halo" only to have to tell them that it doesn't support it.
@TakeItEasy +1 Yeah, I still dip my toes in online multiplayer Halo now and then, but I've always preferred the ability to enjoy matches against family and friends in the same room via splitscreen multiplayer. It's just bad business on Microsoft's part to remove such a practical feature so they can force every consumer to purchase their own console and copy of the game to be able to play "together".
@TakeItEasy so you’re not a fan of halo multiplayer but feel justified enough to berate people that are a fan of halo and don’t like infinite mediocre *** content ? are you serious ?
y’all people who talk crap about others for having standards because they’ve had better before are the worst . “Yea you’ve had better, but stop complaining!” - no , that’s not how it works. But YOU can stop crying about peoples criticisms though.
Do we need an FPS counter?
@Baler they clearly said it's very beneficial for forge creators and has been heavily requested....so yes fis counter seems to be important. Like you it doesn't do anything for me but if it allows better forge maps for me then I'm down.
I love infinite and they definitely improved a ton this season. Hopefully next season is another hit and they can just keep em coming.
@OrfeasDourvas Like Kodu Game Lab, or Project Spark? Those things always fail. Just not an audience for it sadly.
@Jenkinss Dreams is awesome. It's pretty much the only PS game I'm jealous of.
The eagle eyes will have change their pants after reading this since they have 20/20 vision beyond mere mortals.
Not meant as compliment. Microsoft even tired of their gripes I'm gathering.
@CaptainCluck I'm with you! ABSOLUTELY tired of all this season garbage that has taken over lot popular games.
It's nothing but ridiculous, over extended time sink that should allow complete in 1/4 of time instead of what they draw it out for.
@Krzzystuff ah ok. My monitor has it built in
@nomither6 yeah i think halo fans are being crybabies and gamer over all are now cry babies that like to complain
@Stoned_Patrol absolute right. No one would use this split screen mode. And I wouldn't want to see how bad the graphics would go down in split.
@Baler that's great....but the world don't revolve around you lol. They stated it's been heavily requested so that's why they did it. Not sure what's hard to comprehend here. Again this ain't doing nothing special for me either but don't see why it's something to complain about.
@Krzzystuff I’m not complaining
