The Microsoft Rewards program on Xbox has been going through a bit of a rough patch this week, as numerous people have encountered issues with Xbox achievements failing to track, and the team is aware of the problems.
Following this, various requirements have been changed for the multiple punch cards on offer right now. You can see a snapshot of some of these below, and we'll go into more detail after the tweet:
So, let's break this down a bit. Here's what's changed from what we can see:
- March 2023 Monthly Bonus Round: Some regions (but not all) may find that you now need to complete 3 achievements rather than 5, along with 2 weekly sets rather than 3.
- Weekly Set (March 14-21)
- The tweet mentions that you now need to complete 3 achievements rather than 5, although we believe that was always the case.
- March 2023 EA Play Games Punch Card: Some regions (but not all) may find that you now need to complete just 1 achievement rather than 3, for a total of 100 points rather than 250.
Hopefully these tracking issues will be resolved pretty quickly in the coming days. Fingers crossed!

pointed this out the other day.
Personally think they should not have changed the points reward, gesture of goodwill and all.
I've had enough of the absolutely 💩ty redeem function on the console. Freezes when trying to redeem ultimate I got with reward points. Code won't work now when trying it on my tablet and says it can't authenticate it with my bank even though I just now paid my tv licence to make sure my card was working. Really pi55ed off.
I'm still pissed off that US players get practically double the points that UK and EU players do. We get 3 points a bing search and they get 5. Why is that fair?
They need to fix the speed of the site. Its so damn slow. Every time i click on something to go get points or whatever, it takes like 15-20 seconds for it to load. It's like loading an old webpage and takes forever. Should be instant if its built into the Series X. And no, my internet connection isnt slow.
I would really, really, REALLY, love see them drop the achievement requirements for Rewards program.
It has caused me to avoid playing Xbox as much as used to. Would sit down to play a game only be like, wow can't play this game right now cause need to save it for getting 3 achievements the next werk.
So just end up watching a movie or TV or doing other chores and not bothering playing a game.
@GuyinPA75 totally agree It stops me playing games because after i earn and achievement i want to stop playing. AMEM is the worst thing they did
the achievement tracking doesnt work properly either so just get rid of it
@GuyinPA75 This right here. I'm always afraid to progress too much in a game where I'll either get too many Achievements at once and or deplete too many from a game for future rewards. Really wish it was just 'play for X amount of time'.
@NarutosBiggestFan Series X has that, too? I always assumed it was just my One S being a One S.
The Rewards app on Xbox is really bad overall. Not only is it slow and laggy, but it's buggy (it doesn't acknowledge/display recent achievements, among other issues), and it always redirects to Bing, the store, etc., even when the reward conditions have been fulfilled.
I've not had any issues at all. I completed the 3rd Weekly Set yesterday and scooped the 2000 monthly bonus. One issue I do notice that happens to me nearly every single month with the monthly bonus is that when I click to redeem my free sweepstakes entry, there's almost never one that costs zero points, they're usually always 200 points.
@GuyinPA75 I figure that they're trying to encourage player engagement, but yeah, it can be counterproductive for those of us who don't spend hours gaming on Xbox every week.
I was pretty good at timing things so I could score 3+ achievements every two-week cycle, keeping some easy Halo ones in my back pocket in case I ran out of time. But then it all went wrong on week 70 or 80 ($2.50 down the drain), so I just abandoned the program for the foreseeable future. It'll take longer to save up points, but it's freeing at the same time!
@LoquaciousB I've found that there's a delay, but the free entries will often show up if you go back later.
Similarly, it's really bad about recognizing achievements that I've gotten in the past hour, but it works if I try again later- even though it might still show "0/3", it gives the points.
@smoreon Thanks for that advice. I just went back and checked it and yes, the free sweepstakes entry is there now. I never thought to try that before, for some reason. Not that I'll ever win anything anyway! Lol.
Very laggy app. I got nothing for 3 achievements the other day. Peed me right off.
Yeah I'm miffed that it won't let me redeem the $50 dollars I spent on RE4 for the bonus 2500 points. It's kinda ridiculous
I can no longer use VPN to get Ms Rewards from Xbox console after this change...
My country is not supported though and never will. Xbox only care about 30-country
@GalacticBreakdown in the same boat here in the UK with res4. Bought and hasn't registered 1 penny spent
I had minor tracking issues, but they were just lag. I don't complain much since it's free money for searching and playing video games...
Rewards aren't even worth going for anymore. Ever since they cut back how many points you get and/or increased the amount of stuff you have to do to get points it's just (pun intended) pointless
@LX_FENIX it is worth it I get approx 30000 points a month ( more if on rewards 10 week streak ) for 10 mins per day , approx 2 months is a full priced game, that's 6 year for clicking for 10 mins a day
