2023 didn't get off to the best start in the racing community - with the loss of the legendary rally and Hoonigan driver Ken Block in a snowmobile accident. Not only was he a huge part of car culture, but he also had an impact on many video games over the years including the Forza series.
Now, in honor of Ken's life, the Forza Horizon 5 developer Playground Games has announced it will be sharing a special tribute video in the next Forza Monthly. It's also calling on the community to submit any Ken Block or Hoonigan-related footage. Here's exactly what it had to say in its latest social media update:
"The loss of Ken Block is felt deeply by the Forza team and we know the Forza community includes many of his fans. We want to put together a tribute video in his honor on behalf of Forza and the community to share on the next Forza Monthly."
"If you'd like to share Ken Block or Hoonigan related in-game photos, clips, or videos you've made to be included in the video, we'd love for you to post them here or on social channels with the hashtag #ForzaKB."
In addition to this, the Forza Horizon 5 team have sent players a 1965 Ford 'Hoonicorn' Mustang and a Ken Block racing suit and helmet.
The team will also honor Ken Block in the 'March series update' with some special in-game content. This includes a player badge, a bunch of Ken Block-inspired accolade objectives, Hoonigan cars featured in Festival Playlist events, a new Forza Link chat phrase, and a seasonal championship where players can win a 2016 Hoonigan Gymkhana 9 Ford Focus RS RX.
The Forza teams shared some messages about the legendary driver earlier this month in a series of posts on social media. See our previous post to read them:
