Xbox Game Pass players have been enjoying Vampire Survivors a lot so far, especially since the game arrived on console platforms after a brief period as a PC-exclusive. Poncle's addictive bullet hell shooter is a really good time, then, and its brand new DLC seems to be impressing players as well.
Some early impressions of the ridiculously cheap add-on (it's literally $2) are starting to hit the web, from critics and fans alike. Here are a few of those early opinions:
The Gamer
"The array of new monsters, featuring the bizarre Mikoshi-nyudo, Raiju, and Kamaitachi, to name a few, are also fresh. Some of the boss fights, which I won’t spoil here, are gigantic and weird and brand-new for Vampire Survivors. The sprites for the new characters are sharp, and their mechanics for the weapons are always fun—probably the best part of Survivors, after all."

Ars Technica
"Even at its most repetitive, the inherent appeal of clearing screens full of enemies in ever-more-bombastic ways remains. All that said, this kind of paid DLC feels like a temporary patch on a game whose depths are finally starting to feel largely plumbed, at least for this reviewer.
For now, though, Legacy of the Moonspell provides a good, cheap excuse to revisit Vampire Survivors. That's true no matter how much time you've already put into this incredibly addictive game."
Over on the game's Reddit page, fans have been been posting some early impressions as well. The recurring theme is that, at $2, this is a great addition for anyone who already digs what Vampire Survivors has to offer.
As we already mentioned, Vampire Survivors is included for free with Xbox Game Pass, while the Legacy of the Moonspell DLC is out now as a $1.99 add-on (you even save a bit extra as a Game Pass member!). If you've not yet tried out the main game, here are our extremely positive thoughts:

I saw the word Vampire and nearly jumped thinking Redfall trailer and release date.
Almost completed base game, but absolutely will buy it, but only after I finish (all unlocks) for the base game.
Bought the game too for less than 4 bucks, even though it's on gamepass, had so much fun with it, totally worth it.
The game is phenomenal. I played some of the DLC last night and it’s so, so good. I’m itching to play more tonight after work.
Highly addictive game
Looking forward to the DLC!
I've tried a few imitators, but they don't have the same pull for me...
Whoa nice... I'll definitely be getting this. Game is so simple and mega addictive.
One of the most addicting games ever. Really excited for this DLC. But it will pull me away from everything else!
I pray this comes to Switch soon, this game is so addictive, but it’s perfect for handheld.
@Odium I've been playing it on Steam Deck and you're right - it's perfect for a handheld.
Just...one...more...run
Bought this on steamdeck, put in about 30hrs, so far. Might as well do it all again.
@BionicDodo that’s what I figured. It seems like the perfect fit for gaming while having something on tv or when the kids take over the tv.
Got this on Steam and Android. So much fun for being so simplistic.
Only $1.79 with Gamepass here...no brainier. Going to finish the base game collection tomorrow and then buy the DLC the next day!
I got bored long before completing the unlocks, but the game is so easy that I finished them anyway for the achievements. I don't see any reason to go back, even if it's only 2 bucks.
If there was any semblance of gameplay and not just addictive progression, it would appeal to me more.
I'd love the game to have a stats page so I can actually see just how many monsters I have killed lol
