Remember the classic Xbox 360 game Aliens Vs Predator? You might be surprised to know that it's actually back in the Top Paid Charts on the Microsoft Store right now in various regions, clearly selling very well once again.
The reason? Well, the game has been included as part of the Super Saver Sale on Xbox for the past week, discounted by a whopping 75% off. This has clearly enticed a lot of people to pick up the game for just £3.74 / $4.99.
And of course, Aliens Vs Predator is also backwards compatible on Xbox One, Series X and Series S, although unfortunately it's never received any visual or FPS Boost enhancements - but it's still undoubtedly a good game.
The game is currently the top-selling backwards compatible title in both the UK and the US on the Xbox Store, and it might well stay that way for another week. Not bad for a game that was first released twelve years ago!
Have you played Aliens Vs Predator? What do you think of it? Let us know down below.

Switch from lifelong playstation user to Xbox I've ended up buying tons of games I already own on Playstation on the Series X.
I guess I'll go ahead and add this one too. Got it all the way back on PS3.
Xbox is just brilliant.
Was this a 'classic'? I remember eagerly anticipating its arrival on PC and then it getting pretty poor reviews so I never picked it up. I had the older FPS Aliens vs Predator games so wasn't that desperate to add a new one unless it was a top game. Has it become more favourably looked upon with time, or is this a case of 'everything old was a classic'?
Picked it up and got it for a few friends so we can play together!
Been saying it for a long time now, backwards compatibility has been one of the best things about Xbox.
@BionicDodo it’s a case of “Sega is publishing it, so knock 15-20 points off the score”. That’s how it was in the late 2000s
That's the reason I'm saving up for a series X. I've been a playstation guy all my life, and when my ps3 goes kaput, my entire library will be useless. To hell with playstation.
@Son_of_Hades reason why I only grab PS consoles end of cycle and grab the first party games for $10 on Black Friday from bestbuy.
Never played it but yeah. I actually bought this yesterday out on limb because I like buying the Xbox & 360 games and I was looking for something to try out for the spooky season. I'm excited to try it out though.
That's why backwards compatibility is important for companies as well - to make money. Immediate metrics may show low player counts, as Sony once implied, for older games but in the long run, it will add to the strength of your platform.
@Son_of_Hades Looking back, I too wish I'd picked up my multiplatform titles on 360 instead, cause most of them are BWC, unlike their PS3 counterparts. 😔
Please don’t remind me that 2010 is already 12 years ago!
@Techno92LFC If you play online games it could be that some of the people you're playing with weren't even born when this came out
Shame this isn't the old one that came out on PC back in the day. I have fond, and scary, memories of playing that one
Just goes to show, you can sell any old pap if its cheap!
I am happy for anyone who enjoys this game, but I didn't rate it back then and think it deserved its 64% metacritic rating.
Its certainly not what I bought a series X to play, but I realise many did buy to play old games so I'm sure its welcome for them. Its also at amazing price, so I guess if it does appeal, its certainly value
Does anyone know if this is the same game or an updated version of Aliens Vs Predator on the Atari Jaguar? I played that version back in the day...
Update: A quick Google of this revealed that the Atari Jaguar version came out in 1994. The PC version released in 1999, also developed by Rebellion, was a shinier improved version.
The Xbox 360 version from 2010 was a reboot of the original, once again developed by Rebellion.
Oh heck yeah, I wasn't aware of this. Nice one, @FraserG!
I've played this back then on pc, good game
I'm one of those who've picked this up in the sale this week myself!
@PhileasFragg That’s a scary thought for sure lol.
Is it possible to play it on a pc And have a multiplayer?
