Update (Thu 15th Sep, 2022): Well, this definitely came true! - Rare treated us to the massive announcement that GoldenEye 007 is coming to Xbox Game Pass soon, eight games were revealed for the service at the ID@Xbox Fall Showcase 2022, and another eight games including Deathloop and Assassin's Creed Odyssey were revealed at the Tokyo Game Show 2022!
You can find out more news about all of these below:
Original story (Tue 13th Sep, 2022): Microsoft treated us to more Xbox Game Pass reveals for September 2022 last week, but it looks like we could be in for a few more announcements over the next few days, as we've got a couple of events that are worth watching out for.
Firstly, the ID@Xbox Fall Showcase on Wednesday will be highlighting "what’s coming soon to Game Pass", and based on past indie showcases from Xbox, we usually get quite a few Xbox Game Pass announcements from them.
Then, Xbox is hosting its Tokyo Game Show event on Thursday, which may bring us more reveals. Last year's event, for example, gave us the shadow drop of Scarlet Nexus, AI: The Somnium Files and Mighty Goose on Game Pass.
And then, of course, there's the little matter of Bethesda's Deathloop. The game's PlayStation exclusivity finally ends tomorrow (Wednesday, September 14th), which suggests that we may be hearing something about an Xbox Game Pass release in the very near future. Microsoft has remained very quiet about this so far, which isn't unexpected.
Speaking on the Xbox Two Podcast yesterday, Windows Central Editor Jez Corden suggested that he would "bet money" on us hearing something about Deathloop and Xbox Game Pass this week, so it's sounding pretty hopeful.
You'll be able to catch all the announcements with us throughout the week here at Pure Xbox, where we'll be hosting the livestreams of both the ID@Xbox Fall Showcase and Xbox's Tokyo Game Show segment on Wednesday and Thursday.
Do you think we'll get a Deathloop announcement this week? Let us know your thoughts below.

We simply don't know what the exclusivity deal with Sony was on Deathloop. We all assume it's one year (as we initially did with FF7R) perhaps we're wrong.
If it does come out on Game Pass then it will be interesting to see if there are any Xbox specific updates. Currently it's one of the games that better uses the DualSense features which gives that version a slight edge when it joins PS+ Extra on 20th Sept.
I wouldn't be surprised if Deathloop doesn't appear this year given if the game isn't mentioned at all, the PS+ Extra/Premium presence next week would give the impression Sony had timed exclusivity for subscription presence on top of the 1 year normal timed exclusivity.
I wouldn't be surprised if it gets shadow dropped onto gamepass later this week when the exclusivity finishes, and it just hasn't been mentioned as the exclusivity deal forbids it
It's only a hunch, but my reasoning is Sony named the mid month PS Extra additions at the start of the month, whereas ordinarily they announce them on the Wednesday before they are added. It makes me wonder if they announced early to get it out before it gets added to Gamepass.
Regardless, I'll give it another go. I sold it on PlayStation late last year as I just couldn't get into it (like all Arkane games), but I think I ought to give it another go seeing as it got such good write ups.
XBox was probably not allowed to promote it due to the exclusivity, so not having heard anything until now doesn't really mean anything. I also can't imagine the game just shadow dropping. Microsoft needs every game they can get for the holidays, so everything they can get is better than what they currently have.
Maybe or maybe not a bit off topic but... Starfield better not be released May 2023, because Tears of the Kingdom is going to drown absolutely everything.
As for Deathloop, I honestly hope they dont shadow drop it. I feel it deserves getting a few months of marketting before it drops.
The Verge says Deathloop is showing up on the Xbox store.

Well they probably couldn't say anything for 1 year which is why its being advertised on Xbox 1 year exactly to the date it released. I expect Ghostwire: Tokyo will have a similar deal in place as it too said at least 1 yr console exclusivity which probably means that MS can't say anything for a whole year and then however long it takes after that to advertise and release the Xbox version knowing that they can't exactly stealth release exactly 1 yr later as MS would want to market it as well, drum up hype etc.
Another game coming to Game Pass 'soon' made by a first party dev to join Starfield, Redfall, Forza, Minecraft, Grounded, Pentiment and Goldeneye...
@Clankylad Hope this is true it's my birthday on the 20th
Heard Deathloop was pretty good so I may get that one.
Looking likely now. Hearing Deathloop has been popping up on the Xbox Dashboard and storefronts. I'm holding out for a TGS announcement tomorrow, sounds logical an Xbox release may coincide with it entering PS Plus Extra on the 20th.
Arkane is an amazing studio (absolutely LOVE dishonored) and held out on playing this until it came out on Xbox. I shall partake ...
There has been several postings about Deathloop appearing on Xbox for preorder. With the exclusivity ending, I have a feeling the game will be on the Xbox platform (and Game Pass) within the next week.
I hope so. I’ve been itching to play it again. It took me awhile to really grasp everything the game was trying to do, but once everything clicked, then it became one of PS5’s best games in my opinion. Arkane never disappoints me.
Hardspace: Shipbreaker is a really great game, had to complete one ship before I go to bed, cost me a while, but getting the hang of it, and I earned 2.5 million with it, sounds like a lot, but got 1.25 billion to go pay off my debt, fun way to start a game, with a lot of debt.
@Rangers420 , well congrats on deathloop, and your birthday then
