Ever wanted to take to the skies in something that's not a plane in Microsoft Flight Simulator? You might be in luck.
In an update from the development team earlier this week, a feedback snapshot reveals the community's top wishes, and the top-voted one is the addition of helicopters.
What's so exciting about this is that the feature is apparently "planned" for a 2022 release. While helicopters have already been added to MFS as free mods, this would presumably be something more official.
Microsoft Flight Simulator is out now on PC and will launch on Xbox Game Pass for Series X and Series S on July 27th. Would you like to see helicopters added to this game? Leave a comment down below.

This game would have SO much potential with multiple vehicles.
Imagine the variety Pilotwings Resort has (Hang gliders, Jetpacks, Flying Squirrel suits, etc.) but on this scale, that would be incredible!!
And with those helicopters, they'll add another 30GB's, at LEAST...
So what do you actually do in this game? is there challenges, stunts, racing, multiplayer racing, collectibles? Or is it literally just fly from point A to point B?
@UltimateOtaku91 In Flight Sim? It says on the title itself, haha!
Joke aside, it’s the next instalment of the MSFS series, and probably one of the best. You can do whatever you wish. Fly, race, landing challenges, or just go exploring. It’s a bit like Euro Truck Simulator 2, just minus the jobs and trucks (obviously). It’s very relaxing to play, and landing the A32NX is probably one of the most satisfying things you can do.
@Wyatt006 Hah! Great idea. I hope this is as chilled out as flying around in the Birdman suit in Pilot Wings.
@notleks_ I see so there is some actual gameplay to it lol I suppose it won't hurt to download it and try it since it's "free"
@The_New_Butler There’s a free add on for PC that I’ve used before, but I can’t remember the name. Anyway, I know what you mean they are difficult to fly. It took me an hour to find out you have to flick the FADEC to even take off, and controlling it was difficult.
No helicopters yet? Aww that's one of the best parts of flight sim, though they always dumb down the choppers. I know they're obscenely complex to operate to the point of not being fun in a simulator, maybe in vr... The instruments wrap around and it's hard to put that on a flat screen.
At least we're getting the spiritual successor to Combat Flight Sim with the Maverick DLC coming!
@UltimateOtaku91 Yeah it's literally a flight simulator. Emphasis on simulator. "Game" and "challenge"are probably the wrong words, it's literally a vehicle operation and procedure simulation not so different from the simulators actual pilots use to actually train. But it's can be dumbed down to go kind of arcade flight game with landing pontoons on a 747, or full on simulator where wind sheer, deicing, runway conflicts, tower handoff and priority etc are involved and fully modeled physics and instrumentation are used. It's sort of at much or as little of real life simulation as needed.
