Head of Xbox Phil Spencer has taken to Twitter today to share praise for a PlayStation VR game - specifically Marvel's Iron Man VR, developed by the Seattle-based Camouflaj.
In his tweet, Spencer noted he was proud to see the local studio launching an impressive game:
This isn't quite as out of the blue as you might think - the Ryan Payton mentioned in Spencer's tweet used to work at Microsoft and 343 Industries before leaving in 2011 to found Camouflaj, so this is likely the product of an old friendship. So while it's certainly interesting to see Spencer highlighting a VR game, we suggest not reading into it!
What do you think of this? Have you played Marvel's Iron Man VR? Let us know below.

Phil being nice again here. I heard the game isn’t that good.
Phil staying as cool as ever. This is what's funny about fanboys (like certain people on this site), they might argue and bitch and moan and turn what should have been a nice tomb raider poll into an Uncharted bashing thread, but fail to realise Phil plays PlayStation. In fact all these people play each others consoles. You think Mark Cerny doesn't have an Xbox One? They only act the way they do in public because they work for xxx, when they get home they sit down and play the competitions games.
I hear this game is good. I want to try it but my psvr makes me feel sick. Also ghost of Tsushima is out soon so I can wait and decide.
@GunValkyrie yes I guess that's one way of how he sees it. I think that VR isn't taking off the way the industry thought. PlayStation VR is the market leader and has only sold a few million, a lot of people get sick playing it. That right there is a big red flag.
I guess choice would be nice but it would also use up resources that would be better put to use somewhere else.
I think we're all looking forward to the event tho, it's gonna be good
Most problems I heard were due to the PS Move controllers and PS4 performance issues. I wonder how it will be on PS5 VR.
@SuperNintendoMii
Lol bad VR makes people sick. Psvr is limited with seated and partial standing tracking and a lot of the games are 60fps or reprojected. These are the things making you sick
VR has transformed not only the working gaming industry and rejuvinated passion in developers. Its also transformed a lot of productive fields by releasing top technology for a fraction of the price it was
Oculus Rift runs at 90fps minimum and doesnt restrict you. Same for many other headsets. Even the Oculus Quest which only runs at 72fps has much much less cases of motion sickness compared to psvr because your movements arent restricted.
Its half way through 2020 and we still have so much misinformation, sad. VR and AR tech will quickly suppass monitors because it already has 4K per eye headsets for consumers. We have super thin 32K per eye screens in testing that will be cheap enough to sell in a few years THIRTY TWO K think about that. In 8-10 years your 8k TV will be a blurry mess when compared to a headset because of the reality of diminishing returns in resolution from a distance. even a 16K TV wont be perceivable at TV distance. 32K per eye not only will it have detail advantage its also made especially for the potential of the human eye, including variable high frame rates and HDR, 3D, Eye tracking
You're VERY uninformed
We already have upscalling tech coming from Oculus next year that turns a 540 image into 4K. You're in for a surprise
@SuperNintendoMii Depends on the game. I can stomach a couple of rounds of Wipeout, so it's not an issue for me. But there are games that are more easy going, like Astro Bot, Moss or Ghost Giant.
@DaddyMike yes that's right I'm VERY uninformed about how sick I feel when I put my own PlayStation VR headset on. Because you apparently know better than me how my own brain is reacting when I've had pounding headaches that have lasted for hours after 20 mins playing it. 🙄
Also, while you waffle on about tech, there are people on pc who can't play half life because it makes them sick. It's why people are modding it to be played without VR. There are people who cannot play VR without being ill. On ALL headsets. That is a fact.
@Octane yeah I played moss and it was excellent but was able to stomach it enough to play it in a few sittings, tho not that long each time. Doom vfr was instant sickness, and when I mean instant, I mean instant. I don't even have to move, just look around. It's why I've had it boxed I p since January. Maybe it's just my brain is not adjusted yet, just that as an experience mine hasn't been that fun. But, tech wise it's impressive and I can see why people like it.
@SuperNintendoMii
Its not being unofficially made for people who get motion sickness its for people who dont have a headset or weak hardware.
I didnt tell you that you DONT get motion sickness I'm telling you WHY you're getting motion sickness. The fact you ignored that tells me you don't often use your head much.
This is the difference in this discussion. You are extremely uneducated on this subject. Just accept it
@DaddyMike I mentioned in my original post that I can't use my ps VR because it makes me ill. You then rattled off a list of reasons as to why I am, to quote you, 'VERY uninformed'. I never mentioned the tech. I never mentioned another VR headset. I just said my own ps VR makes me ill. Yet you proceeded to tell me it's not VR making me ill, it's my ps VR headset that's doing it... Which happens to display VR.
And all this from some cocky Internet tough guy with only two posts on this site, who also happened to ignore the fact that I pointed out the headsets he bigged up so much also make plenty of PC gamers feel ill.
Idiot
@SuperNintendoMii
My reply was addressing your statement "it only sold a few million"
The thing cost the same price as the PS4 and you NEED the ps4 to play it. Sony themselves said given the price they are pleasently surprised how many people bought it and cant wait to release Gen 2
"Only sold a few million" what a joke. Too many ignorant people spouting rubbish because their too dumb to research before spreading nonsense
@DaddyMike 🥱 doesn't change the fact its only sold a few million. And that VR makes a lot of people feel sick. And that VRs biggest game is being modded to work without VR.
@SuperNintendoMii
Its being moded because not everyone can afford PCVR. Do you have half a brain or something? You sound like a horse and carrage idiot
@DaddyMike of course. The fact that there are some people who feel sick when using VR doesn't factor into the equation at all.
Also, there's an 'i' in carriage, idiot.
@SuperNintendoMii
If you haven't noticed iv been using a phone the whole time. But then you wouldn't realise because you're too busy picking your nose with your feet while chewing beef jerky.
I tried to ignore your first post, I really did but I felt sorry for the people who read it. Enjoy ignorance!
@DaddyMike looks like another for the block list
