Concluding the recent Xbox Games Showcase event was the announcement of an all-new Xbox Series S console. With 1TB of storage (doubling that of the standard Series S console) and coming in a gorgeous Carbon Black colouring, the system is now available to pre-order.
It launches on 1st September 2023, and we'll be updating this page with all the links you need to get your hands on one in the build-up to release. Keep checking back for all the best deals and cheapest pre-order prices, or feel free to lock in your order now to avoid disappointment.

Pre-Order Xbox Series S - 1TB (Black) In The US
In the US, the system is currently exclusively available to buy through Microsoft's own store, although more retailers will also be opening orders in "the weeks to come". We'll make sure to update this guide as and when that happens.
Pre-Order Xbox Series S - 1TB (Black) In The UK
And it's the same deal in the UK, with the system being exclusive to the Microsoft Store at the moment, but with more retailers opening orders soon. Keep this page bookmarked if you're wanting to shop elsewhere.
The system launches just in time for the release of Starfield, which obviously isn't a coincidence. If you're also excited to get your hands on Bethesda's upcoming action RPG, make sure to check out our pre-order guide for the game which details all of its different editions and accessories:

Ya know if the Xscreen fits on that it would look like a backwards Oreo. Kinda neat.
I bought an X last night and had a hell of a time finding a non-bundled unit. I have to drive 30 minutes to pick one up. Even harder to find was a physical of Street Fighter 6. I was really surprised.
I don't know if this means anything - just thought it interesting.
I wonder if this means we'll see an expanded Series X before too long as well with 2Tb built in?
@Cashews So do you have it home yet? I saw you on the live chat last Sunday.
@Banjo- not yet, picking it up in a few hours. First time on an xbox since 2010 I think. I'm looking forward to it.
Now I'm just crossing the 't's by trying to find the right headset, finding the best deal on yearly subs and finding out which games from my physical 360 collection I can play again! Nuts and Bolts is one Mr. Banjo!
I think I spent over 6 million dollars on Arcade back in the day too...it'll be a gas to find out what still works.
@Cashews Cool! I'm happy to have you here. I'm still playing Xbox 360 games because my first Xbox console was Xbox One š. I got the Series X at launch.
Iām very confused by this console. $350 is now only $50 away from the better hardware digital PS5. Are there really that many people with an S that are hung up about the storage? I struggle to see who this console is for.
@FatalBubbles Mainly PS5/Switch/ Xbox Series X console owners that want an Xbox at a more affordable price. A lot of people will also prefer the storage and the colour. I got a Series S to go along with my PS5 and Switch.
@FatalBubbles I donāt want a PlayStation but thatās a great point.
@Darylb88 Youād be swayed to pay the $350 for a console thatās far less powerful?
@sixrings Ya I know all people donāt want the PS5, I was just comparing the hardware, crazy how close in price.
@FatalBubbles I mean for me it was an Ā£230 saving (Series X mostly now sold at Ā£480 bundle in the UK) I already have a PS5 and switch, the Ā£250 one is more value for sure if you don't mind the lower storage but the Ā£180 saving (Ā£300 version) for the 1TB is still decent if you just want a cheaper way to play games like Starfield and the other upcoming gamepass games and exclusives.
@Darylb88 Gotcha. I personally wouldnāt pay $50 just to have more storage but some people probably would. My internet is decent (400mbps) so I can delete and download games without much hassle.
