Stalker 2's open world always has plenty of chaos to throw at you, but some of its more formidable foes are basically invisible when you first engage with them. Yep, the game's 'Poltergeist' and 'Bloodsucker' enemies come in various invisible forms, but they can be beaten with the right approach.
Stalker 2 Invisible Enemy: Bloodsucker
Bloodsuckers are the more common of these two invisible enemy types, and actually, these ones will fade into view every now and then - which is the perfect time to strike.
Stalker 2's Bloodsuckers will often dart around as they approach you - and if you use our recommended aim assist settings, you should feel your controller pull towards them as they get closer. As that happens, it's worth unloading a few rounds into their invisible bodies - and you should see blood splatters appear when you strike.

However, we found that the best time to take down Bloodsuckers is when they get super close and try to hit you. At this point, if you can effectively dodge them (or quickly move after they hit), you should be able to see their bodies for a few short seconds before they dart off again. Fire as many rounds into them here as possible - preferably with a close-range weapon like an SMG.
If you do this a few times on the game's normal, 'Stalker' difficulty — taking time to heal when needed — you should successfully take down any Bloodsuckers in your way.
Stalker 2 Invisible Enemy: Poltergeist
Poltergeists are the tougher of these two enemy types, and they'll stay invisible throughout an encounter. You'll notice them use random objects around you to inflict damage, and as bait to try and lure you in.
Sound is super important with Poltergeists - crank your volume and listen for their static sound. Eventually, you should see what looks like a dusty orb of energy, which will take damage if you shoot at it.

The best course of action with Stalker 2's Poltergeists is to avoid the objects they summon, and only shoot when you have a good line of sight on the energy orb. These guys can be stubborn, but if you keep repeating this pattern — avoiding their object attacks and getting shots down range when you catch a glimpse of them — you should eventually defeat any poltergeists that stand in your way.
We hope our tips & pics help you take down these enemies in Stalker 2!

For bloodsuckers & wildlife in general a shotgun with either slugs or buckshot is super useful.
More so when you find a pump action but the two shot versions work well enough too.
My load out is the Valik Lummox AKM-74S for human enemies. One shot kills to head & it comes with a scope.
M860 Cracker pump action for wildlife & a silenced pistol if I need to be sneaky, which is kind of hard to do to be honest.
Working well enough for what I have faced so far.
@RiverGenie Yeah shotguns work alongside SMG's - but theyre a bit less forgiving if you miss!
So far I've found shotguns more effective on humans and rapid fire weapons on monsters.
@Kezelpaso For me with humans you can fight at a distance with a lot of them so getting headshots with a single round works. Though you can switch to shotgun if someone does run up on you.
Monsters & wildlife always charge you (at least from what I have seen so far) which is why I go with shotgun for close in work.
Ultimately though it is personal preferences & there isn't really a wrong way. Cant wait to see someone do pistol & knife speedrun like the originals
@RiverGenie someone much better at this game than me can use the pistol & knife combo 😂 That'll be awesome to see!
I'm already "in love" that there's bs at the start, dayum... How hard it can be?...
Eh, these guys are fairly simple. Fighting a pack of dogs on the Series S is my new worst nightmare… 😱
@mac_da_man assuming you mean normal dogs? Find a wall or other surface like a car or bus & put your back to it. Limits their direction of attack option & gives you a better chance to pick them off as they run in.
If you mean psy dogs that create illusions of themselves & you have to find / kill the alpha in the horde to make them all go away. Those are a pain for sure ...yeah run away 😉
@RiverGenie
Theres also the not always great framerate and controls and what feels like lag to deal with on the S which makes it so, so much harder. One pack of normal dogs that attacker at night and bad weather cost me three full mags cause I couldnt hit ***** and I had to use almost all of my medical stuff 😂 so yeah, now I just run like crazy
I don't have that kind of ammo. The cost of ammo crisis is real.
