Stalker 2: Best Controller Settings On Xbox Series X And S

Stalker 2 hits Xbox Game Pass today, and while this marks the series' first day one launch on console, the game's controller settings do feel a little finicky out of the box.

So, we've spent a good few hours playing around with how Stalker 2 controls on Xbox, and we have some recommended settings here for Series X and S users. These should make the game feel more like a console experience, rather than something adapted from mouse & keyboard on PC.

  • Aim Assist Type: Focusing
  • Controller Sensitivity: 85
  • Controller Aim Sensitivity: 40

As you can see, we're using the game's 'Focusing' Aim Assist type. This activates more of a typical console aim 'lock-on' mechanic, and it should help you get through some of the intense combat sections in Stalker 2.

You'll notice that Focusing sets 'camera slowdown speed' to 80% and 'target turnaround speed' to 100% in order to achieve this lock-on feeling, but if you select the "Custom" Aim Assist type you can actually fully tweak these to your preferred values.

Again, we like the way Focusing feels, but if you want to have a bit more control, opting for Custom and then tweaking those numbers as you please is another way to go.

We landed on 85 for 'controller sensitivity' and 40 for 'controller aim sensitivity' - although these can be changed if those figures don't quite suit your playstyle. The game also has inverted options if you're so inclined.

Anyway, those are our baseline recommendations for making Stalker 2 feel a bit more like a traditional 'console shooter', but there are plenty more options to dig into for specific things, if you want to tweak your experience that little bit more.

We hope this helps your early experience with Stalker 2 on Xbox!
