Will Silent Hill 2 come to Xbox one day? Well, Konami's upcoming remake is a highly anticipated PS5 and PC title launching this month, but at the moment those are the only confirmed platforms.
However, one of the game's pre-release trailers suggests that might change in the future. So, here's everything we know about the Silent Hill 2 remake potentially coming to Xbox.
Is Silent Hill 2 Coming To Xbox?
Silent Hill 2 launches for PC and PS5 on October 8th, and an Xbox release date is still to be confirmed at this stage. But, the game's 2024 'Immersion' trailer contained an infographic that basically says the game has a one year exclusivity window on these platforms.
The trailer's specific wording is as follows: "Not available on other formats until 10.08.2025". With a PC version already confirmed, this is a huge hint at an upcoming Xbox release - even if the PlayStation trailer doesn't mention Xbox specifically.
What Is Silent Hill 2's Release Date?
As mentioned above, Silent Hill 2 comes to PC and PS5 on October 8th, 2024. With Sony's one year exclusivity deal in place, any Xbox release for Silent Hill 2 would arrive on October 8th, 2025 - or anytime after that date.
What Is Silent Hill 2 Remake?
This new release of Silent Hill 2 is an overhauled version of the 2001 Xbox original. It is being developed by Layers of Fear studio Bloober Team, and follows a similar blueprint to Capcom's recent Resident Evil remakes.
The Metacritic average is sitting on a very impressive 87 as things stand, with our sister site Push Square also giving the game a 9/10 at launch. In other words, it sounds like Konami has knocked it out of the park with this one!
That's all the key information we have on the Silent Hill 2 remake for now, with its PC and PS5 launch right around the corner. Although an Xbox release is yet to be confirmed, it's safe to assume that we can expect the game to hit more platforms on or after October 8th, 2025.
