Will Silent Hill 2 come to Xbox one day? Well, Konami's upcoming remake is a highly anticipated PS5 and PC title launching this month, but at the moment those are the only confirmed platforms.
However, one of the game's pre-release trailers suggests that might change in the future. So, here's everything we know about the Silent Hill 2 remake potentially coming to Xbox.
Is Silent Hill 2 Coming To Xbox?
Silent Hill 2 launches for PC and PS5 on October 8th, and an Xbox release date is still to be confirmed at this stage. But, the game's 2024 'Immersion' trailer contained an infographic that basically says the game has a one year exclusivity window on these platforms.
The trailer's specific wording is as follows: "Not available on other formats until 10.08.2025". With a PC version already confirmed, this is a huge hint at an upcoming Xbox release - even if the PlayStation trailer doesn't mention Xbox specifically.

What Is Silent Hill 2's Release Date?
As mentioned above, Silent Hill 2 comes to PC and PS5 on October 8th, 2024. With Sony's one year exclusivity deal in place, any Xbox release for Silent Hill 2 would arrive on October 8th, 2025 - or anytime after that date.
What Is Silent Hill 2 Remake?
This new release of Silent Hill 2 is an overhauled version of the 2001 Xbox original. It is being developed by Layers of Fear studio Bloober Team, and follows a similar blueprint to Capcom's recent Resident Evil remakes.
The Metacritic average is sitting on a very impressive 87 as things stand, with our sister site Push Square also giving the game a 9/10 at launch. In other words, it sounds like Konami has knocked it out of the park with this one!

That's all the key information we have on the Silent Hill 2 remake for now, with its PC and PS5 launch right around the corner. Although an Xbox release is yet to be confirmed, it's safe to assume that we can expect the game to hit more platforms on or after October 8th, 2025.
Will you be into this if it comes to Xbox next year? Tell us down below.

I'll be playing it on PC, but it's stupid for it not to release on all systems. I'm sure Sony slid Konami a check to keep it off Xbox. PC is getting the best of both worlds these days with access to both Xbox and Sony's "exclusives"
Look forward to replaying this again on Xbox. Silent Hill I find be the better horror series over resident evil.
It's so ridiculous that playstation advertises the ps5 vertical in every presentation and have to put the small print that a vertical stand is sold separate. What does that stand cost them to produce? a couple bucks? There is no way it costs them anywhere near the 29.99 they charge for it. It's definitely not a "cost saving practice" that is making the console price cheaper, it's just a price gouge.
@BacklogBrad doesn't the new PS5 stand up without it? My original PS5 does.
@Tyrant_T103 Sony is spending its way into dominance. Unfortunately, it's also the reason PlayStation budgets are skyrocketing to the point that it needs to put games on PC in order to get a better ROI as well as continue to add more weight on the consumers back.
The funny thing is, it all gets defended because it's PlayStation.
"Sony cares about its platform."
Yes it does. It just doesn't care about the consumer.
It won't be so funny when Sony dominates completely, and people are paying $90 for PS6 games and $1000 on the console itself.
"Economic times," they say - while shareholders are collecting their record profits.
Not saying Microsoft is any better. It certainly has its share of blood collection from consumers. But Microsoft has spent its money to secure a future for Xbox rather than knock out the competition.
I'll be enjoying this game on PC, thanks!
@DarthAmmii the launch model that i have had one included but I think all the revisions have ditched it. The slim and pro for sure don't have them but will be pictured vertical with the stand in every ad. The consoles are clearly designed and intended to be vertical. If you just place it on an it's end I believe you are blocking air flow.
The stand sold is different than the one included with the launch model but it is still not something that costs them anything to produce.
@GamingFan4Lyf
Well there was always that itsy bitsy email from Aaron Greenberg to Phil that was brought up in the Activision trial that stated "we are in a unique position to spend Sony out of the industry" so... Let's not pretend they haven't or wouldn't try and do the same by spending ludicrous amounts on the biggest buyout in the history of gaming.
@GADG3Tx87 ...and yet Sony still thrives. So that "strategy" didn't work either - probably because despite the fact Microsoft COULD spend Sony out of the industry, it knows it wouldn't get that money back. So, what would be the point - especially with regulatory commissions on its back left right and center?!
And I feel like that reality is starting to hit Sony. All this money it's been spending on domination isn't coming back like it wants to. Hence, PC releases, Switch releases, $30 console stands, $700 Pro console without a stand or disc drive, $80 mountable disc drives, $60 PSVR PC adapters, $200 streaming device, etc. etc.
I'm not coming at this from a devils advocate perspective, just that-- it's being made by Bloober Team, so I can promise you this won't be anything special. You'll miss out on a years worth of disappointment and underwhelming gameplay.
@GamingFan4Lyf I agree with some of what you said but I don't think MS is securing the future of xbox. I'd say the opposite. They are securing their space as a 3rd party publisher and xbox is last on the list for them. If they were securing xbox they'd make exclusives. If they put games on playstation after 3 months (Indiana jones) soon it will be same day.
3rd party exclusives just simply shouldn't be a thing in 2024. Only exceptions are if the platform holder co-funds or co-develops the game. With the cost of development these days, most 3rd parties want their games to be available on as many platforms as possible.
I'll be buying this on PC then. I'm not waiting a year to play it, and as I have the choice of PC or PS5, I may as well get it in the PC as it'll be cheaper there...
@FatGuyInLilCoat Sure, if you define "Xbox" as the plastic box rather than the name of Microsoft's gaming ecosystem.
I would put money on this being disappointing to both the avid Silent Hill fans and newcomers. The quality of Bloober Team's past output can be charitably described as sporadic, and I guarantee they were brought on to develop this game because they were the lowest bidder.
***** it let Sony waste money on timed exclusivity.
I'm getting the physical version on PS5. Can't wait!
I will wait for Xbox partly bc I’m so sick of Sony cutting these deals
@Markatron84 this is also true. As soon as I saw blooper team any optimism was dashed
@DarthAmmii yeah you don't need the stand, but people will criticise anything and everything, even if they don't own the thing they're criticising, and affects them no way at all 🙄 people are dumb.
@Reptilio so you own a pc or ps5 and could buy it?
@Kieduss like xbox buying the advertising rights to Metaphor: ReFantazio you mean
@Kieduss yes cause a well reviewed and well made game is a waste of money 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
Seems like a good get by Sony. Just happy to see Bloober Team graduate to making a very well reviewed game.
@Markatron84 careful your fanboy is showing
The original SH2 was a PlayStation 2 exclusive back in the day and then later ported with the “Restless Dreams” extra on Xbox. I wonder if/when this remake of SH2 gets ported to Xbox, if it’ll feature another extra like Restless Dreams.
@Fishmasterflex96 you've lost me. What am I a fanboy of?
Good to see this reviewing strongly. I had my concerns about bloober but it seems they pulled it off.
Of course it's coming to the Xbox, someday. Meanwhile, I'm fine playing it on my PS5 on Sunday (early access with Deluxe edition).
@Markatron84 An 87 with 55 reviews. You missed the mark on this one.
Just gotta say that I've long believed this game would be good! Can't wait until my copy arrives. I went physical for this one!
@Realist I absolutely did. I'm more than happy to be wrong here though.
Still waiting for @Fishmasterflex96 to tell me why I'm a fanboy.
I preordered through Green Man Gaming for $54 and I can't wait to play this on Steam!
I sold off my Xbox Series X and all the games and, after I finish Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, will be done with PS5 for the foreseeable future (perhaps permanently depending on how much more aggressive Sony becomes regarding its PC strategy).
It's a shame Xbox owners will miss out on Sient Hill 2 for at least a year because the reviews are very positive for the remake.
Nothing special both sides have year exclusive on games as long as it comes in a year to Xbox see nothing wrong tbh
Is anyone else sick to death of "iS tHiS gAmE CoMiNg tO xBoX?" Articles?
How does Phil still have his job????
@armondo36 we live in an SEO-obsessed world; I'm personally sick of many types of articles, but you gots to get them clicks. If it's not "is this game coming to Xbox?", it's something else.
Also, still waiting for @Fishmasterflex96 to tell me why I'm a fanboy.
It's a brilliant game sony are such a scummy company though then again I think so are nintendo and Microsoft but a great game like this should be available on the xbox as well and so should black myth wukong
@Shalooda yea I have a ps5. I prefer playing on Xbox bc of quick resume and smart delivery. Plus I prefer controller
@Reptilio you prefer playing on xbox even when that game isn't on xbox ?
@Dan1283 maybe ms should sell more xbox and get rid of the series s, bit of a catch 22 there though.
@armondo36 the fact that they're making the articles into guides now makes me chuckle , it may never come to xbox nobody knows, the other platforms could be the switch 2 , and has its reviewed well Sony may renew the exclusive window.
@Shalooda I do agree though as well Microsoft have done this themselves they deserve everything they get but gamers dont inthink
@Shalooda Yep. I can wait a year for exclusivity to end or I can just not play it at all.
@Reptilio or you could just buy it for your ps5 or pc , what a load of nonsense 😂😂
