Call Of Duty's first Xbox Game Pass beta is upon us - with the Black Ops 6 early access beta being included in the subscription this weekend. Alternatively, pre-ordering the game will also grant early beta access, if you're not subscribed to Microsoft's service.
We know lots of you will be excited to give this a go ahead of the title's full Game Pass launch this October, so, here's everything you need to know heading into Black Ops 6 beta weekend one.
Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6 Beta Dates And Start Times
The Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 beta goes ahead on two upcoming weekends. The first weekend is for Xbox Game Pass users and pre-orders only, with a second open beta to follow for all players.
The first beta weekend begins August 30th at 10am PDT / 1pm EDT / 6pm BST / 7pm CEST, and it ends on September 4th at those very same times.
The second, open beta weekend begins September 6th at 10am PDT / 1pm EDT / 6pm BST / 7pm CEST, and wraps up on September 9th - again at the same times.
How To Install The Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6 Beta
As you'd probably expect these days, the Black Ops 6 beta install is more complicated than it needs to be. However, we're here to break it all down for you and make your life a little easier.
So, the beta is a part of the 'Call of Duty Hub'. To access the beta, you'll need to download the base 'Call of Duty' app, and make sure that the Black Ops 6 Beta files are also installed.
To do this, head to the Xbox Store on your console, search for 'Call of Duty', and find the Call of Duty tile with the Black Ops 6 artwork. Then, hit 'manage game' and choose the relevant Black Ops 6 beta files to install.
What you need is as follows: Call of Duty Base game, and BO6: Beta. There are also two 10mb files labelled 'Open Beta' & 'Beta Pack 01' - we'd recommend selecting those and installing them as well, just in case you need them.

Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6 Beta Install Size Xbox
Thankfully, the team has reduced the game's file sizes ahead of the Black Ops 6 beta. So, the base game is now 40.3GB, and the BO6: Beta file is 32.4GB - on Xbox Series X.
Overall we're looking at just under 73GB of storage needed for the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 beta on Xbox.
How Can I Access The Black Ops 6 Beta Through Xbox Game Pass?
As we mentioned earlier, this beta is completely playable for free as part of Xbox Game Pass, and its integration is very simple.
As long as you're subscribed, the Black Ops 6 beta files will be right there and usable within the Call of Duty hub. In fact, if you've already been playing Modern Warfare 3 through the service, you may already have 'BO6: Beta' installed as part of a recent update - so that's worth checking first if you have MW3 installed.
Either way, as long as your account has an active Game Pass subscription, you can play both weekends of the Black Ops 6 beta!
What Rewards You Can Earn Playing The Black Ops 6 Beta
Finally, we'll drop an image down below showcasing all of the content you can earn across the two Black Ops 6 beta weekends. Of course, these rewards will all carry over into the main game.

That main game, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, will be playable through Xbox Game Pass on October 25th.
Excited for this one, chaps? Tell us if this has been helpful at all down below!

Am I right to assume this is just for the multiplayer component of the game, @Kezelpaso? No part of the Campaign is not playable in the beta?
I'm tempted if only so I can unlock someone called Squish.
@Fiendish-Beaver Yeah it will only be multiplayer not campaign till the game releases I might give this a download sort of in between games at the moment ha
Watched the online multiplayer reveal and looks to me like the last 5 or so that have been brought out. Honestly, I never thought like this back during the PS3 or Xbox 360 days but now they actually do all look the same these days.
@Markatron84 but what about Squash 😔😔
@Fiendish-Beaver yes, just multiplayer
@Kezelpaso NO. JUST SQUISH.
They should have a beta for Zombies too honestly.
Warzone was a teaser of what to expect - an Alpha at CoD Next so that is not included - its also the F2P component so 'linked' to BO6 but also 'separate' too so won't be included in the Bets, Just BO6 MP- with 'rewards' available if you reach Lvl 20 this weekend and more too reach Lvl 30 next weekend...
There is no need to Beta Test the Single Player and never have either. This is a 'pre-release' Beta to see what the community thinks and if its 'performing' as expected. Those who 'pre-order' are those who are most excited for the MP so its those that the Beta is primary for. Now, for the first time, the Beta is also available to all those with Game Pass Subscriptions too.
I'm looking forward to it - would be cool to have a Zombies map too but I doubt they'll let us loose on 1 of the 2 maps coming at Launch.
I'm looking forward to the full release!
Treyarch like to keep Zombies under wraps, will be a wait for the full release on that one!
@Techno92LFC Very much the opposite. It's probably the most changed COD as far as gameplay in well forever. Seems like it will end up much better than the last many COD games. Especially Modern Warfare and Modern Warfare 3 remakes. Too dull and too quick TTK. This is more arcade-y and longer TTK.
