I got a feeling of déjà vu reading those descriptions.
@Enigk Apologies! Not sure how that happened
Control and Haven will go on my list of never ending games to play.
I completely forgot about Haven! I read about the game earlier this year and thought it was very interesting since it was described as "Journey meets Persona". Didn't know that it's out now, need to play it ASAP!
I'll give Haven and Yes, Your Grace a shot. I'm assuming the version of Control on Game Pass isn't the Ultimate Edition that's getting an X|S upgrade? If not, I'll wait until the Ultimate Edition patch is out.
When I looked for Haven it just said that it's coming soon, I couldn't download it.
@VenomousAlbino It appears that this version will not be getting the update patch, yeah. I think I'm going to play through it anyway though. If I can play this version for free, the updated version doesn't necessarily seem worth the extra money. On the other hand, DLC, game enhancements, ownership status... Ahhhh I feel conflicted 😵
@Snake_V5 DOOM Eternal (for PC) and Haven aren't available yet - they'll be added later in the day.
@FraserG Thanks.
Great games on here, Gamepass is crazy
Haven is now up!
@Kefka2589
I'm in the same boat. The same thing happened to me with Quantum Break. Guess I really like Remedy games (Alan Wake and Max Payne included).
I’ll definitely try out Haven! It looks like a unique experience.
@gollumb82 @Kefka2589 Max Payne was phenomenal for it's time, and MP2 ramped it up another level. Though it always left me unsettled afterward though. Alan Wake isn't for me. What I've played of Quantum Break is great though. The only reason it's not on my XSX SSD right now is it's freaking huge thanks to the FMV!
@NEStalgia
Yeah, it's shocking how fast that XSX SSD fills up. I have 4 games installed and there's less than half the space left. Granted, I will probably never need an external drive as I usually only play 2-3 games at the same time.
As for Remedy- I hope MS acquires them. Sam Lake is great at original game concepts.
@gollumb82 I have to admit Remedy would be a great fit for XGS. Though I always hate talk of "I hope company X buys company Y." I'd rather Remedy stay independent, though if it's a choice of Amazon or Sony or Google buying them, then yeah, I'd much rather MS get them.
Control had me interested until seeing it is the last gen version. One more skip from me. Hopefully Remedy isn't screwed into using 505 as a publisher for their next game.
While Control Ultimate can be picked up (with expansions attached), the X/S enchantments aren't kicking in until next year. Having the stock standard release on Gamepass is a fantastic option for those who just weren't invested enough to purchase it outright.
I've not played it yet, and picked up on Black Friday sale, asked happy to wait for patch, as there's plenty else to experience.
Though again, the stock standard option is free on Gamepass for those who can choose to look past the upgrade, as it's still a solid game.
Average at best
NHL's 94 rewind is fun game, reminds me of the megadrive years. Great fun nostalgia. Well done EA
Tried out Phogs hoping for a fun two-player game. Appears boring like hell. I'll stick to Unravel 2.
I'm now 2-3 missions into Control. Fantastic game and Remedy's storytelling skills (which I happen to love) are on full display here. Can't wait to get back into the game.
I just got Game Pass for the first time... used the Gold trick to get 27 months for £71. It's insane value for that. I've spent 3 days downloading Xbox Games, and there's still a bunch of PC stuff like Age of Empires to look at.
I still can't see DQ to download here in the UK
I'm pleasantly surprised with DQ. Personally it's still "the ugly switch version" and I don't see how nobody has a problem with how sharply the textures and models were downgraded from the PS4 Pro original version. That game looks amazingly better. The grass and foliage matter, darnit! I can't sand seeing jaggies in the grass.
BUT overall the resolution increase, 60fps, and the HDR combine to make a reasonable tradeoff, at last, I think.
Next time it goes on sale I'll probably triple dip. (No game pass discount yet - boo!)
Control....I tried the beginning and it's intriguing. I was afraid I'd end up wanting the XSX version so while it was still half price for Cyber week I grabbed Ultimate in the last 20 minutes of the sale despite it being on Game Pass.
I don't do horror, or deep suspense, so I'm a bit afraid I'm going to end up not wanting to play it. And yet it seems really good, otherwise.
@NEStalgia coughs soundtrack coughs my ears always get what they want
@mousieone Yep, I hear that!
@NEStalgia I’m just glad it’s at least up to playable standards for you
I tried Yes, Your Grace last night... for about two and a half hours. I am now all about Yes, Your Grace.
