So I don't know if anyone knows this, but appearently there are retro levels from the first 3 SoR game in SoR4. I know of the sprites you can unlock for Axel, Blaze, Adam etc. But the levels were new to me.

How do you unlock the retro levels? I haven't looked into that yet because I'm just running through trying to beat the story with each character and unlock the retro skins first.
@Gamer83 In certain levels you come across a Bare Knuckle Arcade machine. You have to use a stun gun on the Arcade machine. It's important that you don't smash the machine any other way only with the stun gun. The stun gun is nearby the machine either an enemy will have one like the police officers or it will be in a breakable object barrel, crate, table etc. If you hit the Arcade machine with the stun gun you will be instantly teleported to a retro level.

Thanks, after I wrote that message I started playing again and figured it out by accident. Pretty cool. I love how much fan service is in this game.
@Gamer83 As far as I can tell you don't get anything for doing the retro levels aside from an achievement/trophy for the first one you complete but they are a nice bit of fan service. I did also get a laugh when I managed to keep a knife out of the one retro levels and went back to the main game the knife was still pixalated. Nice attention to detail there.

In the sewers there is a graffiti in the background which is the face of the main character from Shinobi, also by SEGA.
In the Y Tower level, as you approach the elevator and fight the three guys in suits, there is a mural on the wall of Mr X from the second game, as he appears in the intro video to the game.
On Y Island, the stained glass windows are also images of Mr X from the boss fights in the first 2 games.
Adam’s vertical jump attack (c+b with no direction input) where he does the splits is the same as his a button special move in the fan remake by Bomber games.
Dr Zan appears in the credits. He was a playable character in SOR 3.
At the end of the first part of the police department you battle the first cop with a shield and riot armour. He is called Murphy, which is either the same cop who helped you with the rocket launcher in SOR 1 (he was called that on the British comic in the 90s) or a nod to Robocop (who was also called Murphy before becoming Robocop). His armour gives him the vague appearance of Robocop too.
Too is the bartender in the underground bar. This kangaroo was an enemy who could join your side if you defeated his handler instead of him in SOR 3.
Blaze’s idle animation of running her hands through her hair is carried throughout the entire series.
Bare Knuckles is the name of the games in Japan.
If you manage to smash the glass on the elevator in Y Tower, not only can you throw enemies to their doom but the game rewards you by dropping w suitcase of money for each side you smash.
That’s all I can think of for now, aside from enemy names and characters brought from older games (Big Ben, Barton etc)
‘You swapped three different N64 games for Pokemon Stadium? Where’s your pride? Your dignity?!?
