I have a bit of a love hate thing going on with achievements. Sometimes I just can't get enough and other times getting them feels like a chore... I tried to have a crack at getting a long-running streak like Red a few months ago... think I managed a hundred days or something before blowing it. My (1st world) problem is that like others I game on other systems, WiiU, PS4 and 3DS. My favourite game right now is Xenoblade Chronicles for example. Not only that but gaming is not my only hobby... now the better weather is here I'm spending more time tinkering with my car for example....
Anyway to get back on topic I'll aim for 100k too... although I'm on 93k now so it's a pretty modest target. Just need to average 1000 points a month and it'll be in the bag.
Like I said, ideally I would like to hit 75k because of the rewards status - not that I benefit from it generally. However as I am on 45k and require a LOT, I think that is very unlikely. Its at least 30 games... According to TrueAchievements though my completion percentage is just under 40% - probably more down to those GwG games I started and never played again - its probably higher on XB1. If this continues that's over 60 games required so not a chance. 50k may not sound ambitious but certainly more realistic especially as I play games primarily for 'fun' rather than for achievements - meaning that I am not chasing achievements at the expense of enjoyment. Maybe I will revise this in a month or 4
A pessimist is just an optimist with experience!
Why can't life be like gaming? Why can't I restart from an earlier checkpoint??
Feel free to add me but please send a message so I know where you know me from...
Hitting 75k is a good one for the rewards that's true... it's the top tier. I buy 90% of my games digitally plus loads of films and TV shows so I get £20-£40 a month back off the rewards scheme so it's of great benefit to me. Hopefully one day they'll add a new tier and give me something to aim for
Totally agree about playing for fun though... that's why I've set a very soft target. When you are playing a game solely to get an achievement then it's a slippery slope. At least that was my experience when trying for my TA streak - it really killed off my enthusiasm for playing games... instead I was looking for easily obtainable achievements instead of just playing what I wanted, the way I wanted and having fun...
Well I only got £14.60 last month lol but then I didn't buy many games either. I think my best payout so far was a whisker under £60 sometime in November/December last year - coinciding with all the big games rolling out thick and fast!
My GS odometer ticked over to 100001 last night after I'd completed my final Witcher contract... I got my Xbox 360 at launch in 2005 so that 100k has been 10 years in the making although I've earned almost half of that figure since getting my One so maybe it won't take as long to reach 200k
Who'll be next and when can we have our gamercards in our sigs to show off?
I need to earn 85 g's a day to get there before the end of the year. Playing Witcher and ESO makes this a challenge as they are the stingiest games ever with achievements!
"Justin Bieber looks like a lesbian i'd like to ****..." - Megakillscreen, out of frickin' nowhere!
You can say that again... 103 hours spent playing the Witcher and I've got less than half the achievements to show for it. Mind you I've not been going out of my way to get them either...

My jaw dropped to the ground - 103 hours with less than half the achievements??!? The Witcher sounds like a b...aherm... banana
Emma "Tito" - the Swankee speaking Swede and quirky blonde.
Think I've spent about 60 hours on Witcher 3 so far and I've got 20% achievements. Either I'm rubbish or nosey when exploring. LOL Sadly Batman has distracted me for a while now.
EDIT: Played for 69 hrs 15 mins according to True Achievements
Nah it's not you... loads of the achievements are linked to playing Gwent which I'm not at all fond of... and there's quite a few obscure ones such as make x number of enemies suffer from bleeding, poisoning and burning all at the same time kind of thing too. Not something you would likely get by chance!

You don't stop gaming because you get old, you get old because you stop gaming.
