Sorry to hear that Yoshi...I think Fallout is a bit of a Marmite game, you either love it and get swallowed whole and can look past bugs (only one freeze and two dashboards so far!) or it doesn't click and you wander around getting annoyed.
Well, I finally hit Diamond City, met a detective, then followed some cases for him...One missing person one took an unexpected dark turn, giving some awesome dialogue. I love the writing in this. I'm also up to 5 sets of power armour now, with enough bits left over to make a sixth if I can find a frame..

@Red620Ti: One of your power armors is missing a head o.0
And living in a shack full of cats is my dream! Now I want to play Fallout just to make that lol
@Red620Ti: He's in dog heaven right there, doesn't know where to begin.
Lol that would suck to get in power armor and learn the hard way it didn't have a helmet by getting shot in the face
I know I'm a bit late to the game here, but use the left and right triggers to rotate items when placing them in your settlements. I built my first 4 or 5 settlements without knowing that, and only found out by accident when I set my controller down and a wall piece started moving! Also, the max settlers you can have is 20. I went a bit crazy when I built Sanctuary (aka Sanctuary Hills) and could have settled 39 people. Sadly, I wasted a lot of construction supplies on that stuff. Also, as you gain perks, you should re-check what you can build at settlements. After putting points in science, I had a lot of different light sources than I did prior to.

Nice one @Falco1863. My sanctuary settlement is firmly stuck on 18 people. I can't even send anyone there. They've all got jukeboxes, tv's and everything. There are 6 clinics, a bar and one of every other emporium. Enough power to fsimultaneousl electrocute every raider in the wasteland, enough water to create the next flood and enough food to outsell McDonald's. Result-94%
Ive backed all 4.
Institute, Brotherhood, Railroad and Minutemen.
Institute - don't like people, want to replace them.
Railroad - sacrifice people to save bots
BOS - Hostile Takeover
Minutemen - seem like nice peeps.
@Falco1863: Great tips, thank you! My finace keeps mocking me because I did not figure out that using the triggers helped in placing my structures! sadlol
I've not long finished a brotherhood run and felt kinda dirty afterwards... Also, I both adore what they did with Maxon and find him very insidious. And Danses storyline is pretty awesome.
New character now. Thinking this will be siding with the minutemen and focusing on settlements. Now I "get" how the story path evolves, I think I have most of my characters planned out. (Psst... Made Harley Quinn. Saving her for later!)
I can't wait to see it moving, but nI'm now at the stage where I have to choose my loyalty. If I take one more BoS mission it makes the Railroad hate me....
Who to go with? I'm leaning toward the Brotherhood, tbh..

@Red620Ti: Save B4 run it then reload earlier. Rinse, repeat for each faction. Minutemen don't get you an achievement, the others do. To avoid confusion, I made a final save for each faction in their home base and deleted the rest so I have 5 saves, 1 at the beginning, just before vault exit and one for each of the factions.
