Just thought I'd start a Fallout 4 thread to put requests for help (real, not Internet rubbish), and generic info postings. Obviously, as people will be talking, potential for spoilers may be high.
Power Armor Tip:
Be really careful where you get out of it!
I got out of mine in Corvega to jump up to a location and a raider nicked it. I killed him but when I picked up my Armor I was unable to put it on. Took it to a station, transferred it, still unable. Had to resort to an earlier (much) save.
Thought that might be possible, glad to know my suspicions were confirmed regarding the power armour. Haven't found much use for it yet as I'm taking the sneaky approach. Currently outputting 3.5x damage from a souped up 10mm while sneaking.
@A_BabyRed_Yoshi I saw your comments on the 5 tips page, is there anything we can do to help?
Theres a lot of power armour around, I think I've found about 5? As I said in the article, mix and match with various bits...You can have T45 torso with T51 legs, and Raider arms, for example. Also look out for hotrodders magazines, they give you new paint jobs that have interesting effects. Also try upgrading, I'm rocking a full set of type B armour which is pretty awesome.
Another thing that tripped me up with the perk sheet, you don't have to fill high columns in order to unlock the ones under it. There are criteria, but you don't need to max out strength for example to get the strong back oerk further down.
"Justin Bieber looks like a lesbian i'd like to ****..." - Megakillscreen, out of frickin' nowhere!
I didn't know enemies could steal your Power Armour - great tip. Thanks everyone! As predicted, I've stashed mine and not bothered with it. I've been playing about with bits and pieces I've found exploring instead.
Other than this, I've been building ALL the houses on ALL the settlements... It's a very good way of levelling up and pimping out some perks to give myself a better chance out in the wasteland. Loving the way they've improved (read: made sooo much scarier and deadlier) the enemies... Venturing forth now feels risky/challenging. Awesome!
Well, i ventured off for about 30 minutes and died instantly to a suicidal mutant and lost all that progress. Kind of growing sick of this game already
Suicidal Super mutants.... Best way to deal with them is to VATS on the hand holding the bomb from a distance and let fly. Should 'splode them before they get to you. They also make a distinctive "beeping" noise, so listen out!
@A_BabyRed_Yoshi: It's a Bethesda game - Cardinal Rule - SAVE OFTEN! They've always had difficulty spikes, especially early on when you're a bit squishy. For me, they have great replay value with the first run through a bit of a learning experience.
You have to learn what works (and more importantly what doesn't) for enemies.
You have to learn how to find ammo (or worst case where to buy it).
Crafting is key (early on you can double your gamage output with the right perk and special and more than quadruple it on a crit. You have to find what works for you though.
They're not hand holders and this game is a bit more 'old school' than any game of theirs since Morrowind. Legendary enemies are rough. I often resort to running away,
@sorethumbed: Thanks for not getting mad at me, haha, my best friend got legitimately mad at me becauss I don't like it lol.
If I could describe this entire game with one word it would be....janky
