@Utena-mobile: I can't answer this question yet. I've been playing in offline mode for most of my playthrough due to a potential glitch tied to summons. The fix supposedly went live today, but I've decided to wait until NG+ to activate online. Considering I'm very close to the end of the game, I don't want to risk anything happening to my save file.
@Utena-mobile
I would think that the co op/PvP system will stay the same. I don't like it myself as I would just like to play the game co op and not have to mess around to make sure I/they have the correct amount of souls etc.
@crippyd: Honestly? I can't say for sure. I finished the game last night (even completed all optional areas and bosses, I think), but I still haven't been able to properly test the servers. I plan to try again later today and tomorrow. I have a ton of stuff going on this week that may complicate things, but I'm hoping to have the review live on Wednesday. Is there something you want to know before launch? If it helps, I can admit that I've thoroughly enjoyed my time with the game.
@DRL Not really, just looking forward to reading your thoughts. I'll discover what its like tomorrow when I get a couple of hours on my digital copy! Its good to know you enjoyed it though. I had a little blast on DS a couple of days ago and either I picked a better start character or I'm much better at the game as it seemed much easier.
@crippyd: Considering you've been playing so much DSII lately, I'm sure your skills have improved substantially since you last played the original. That's likely why it seemed easier.
If there's anything you (or anyone else) needs help or advice with once you dig into DSIII, let me know. I'll try to keep up with the forum for a while. If I'm slow to respond, you can always hit me up on Twitter. Those notifications usually come to my phone immediately.
So... Who's diving into Dark Souls III today? Be sure to share your thoughts once you're in the thick of it. I'm eager to hear what you guys and gals think!
I'm thinking about waiting for a price drop. Even though I only own my Xbox One since december, I already got a backlog that include time consuming games like Black Flag, Dragon Age Inquisition, Shadow of Mordor, Rare Replay, Gears of War Ultimate and Halo MCC.
@DRL Thanks for the kind words I think I've just had a lucky run as I reached the Undead Burg without dying once. I would say it also helps that I can remember where most of the enemies are in this area.
So, I weakened and downloaded this. Fun so far. Couple of nice surprises and a couple of them hit hard (don't get hit lol).
Started a couple of characters to see what worked early on.
Sorcerer was good as the slowness of Bossyboots number One allowed the required distance to fire off spells. Really liking the Spellpool mechanic and the fact that you can reallocate your flasks at the shrine.
This game is sooo weiiirrdd, in a great way. The combat is alot more fun, I'm enjoying it alot! @DRL hey do you know if enemies stop respawning after you kill them x amount of times?
@DRL@A_BabyRed_Yoshi I spent a couple of hours on it last night. It is a HUGE map and more than a little confusing. I only died once in the time I played but I was being super cautious. First impressions are that it is going to take a very long time to complete it and I don't like Firelink as I think its too big for a hub, I preferred 2's hub. I haven't used the new attack thing (I believe its two hand your weapon, hold LT and press RT?), so I don't know what sort of difference that makes. Going to spend a lot more time on it and get accustomed to the new systems and world. Graphics are certainly a step up too, it looks very smooth and detailed, I love the little bits of fire on the character.
