Topic: Puzzling Controller Issues with Rechargeable Xbox Battery

I have a couple of Xbox controllers (barely used) that don't turn on when I try to use an official Xbox rechargeable battery with them.

But they will turn on when a cable is attached, or when I try to use regular batteries.

I have another controller, my main one where the rechargeable battery usually lives, and that does turn on and work fine with it.

The firmware on all three is up to date, there are no signs of corrosion on the connection points. No cracks or any other signs of damage.

So... what's going on? Is there something I'm missing?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

@slowlark sorry if that doesn’t help, but I’m pretty sure that some of the rechargeable Xbox battery packs that fit the Xbox Series controllers don’t work in the Xbox One controllers, and vice versa. Is there any chance that you are using a battery pack that isn’t compatible with both of your controllers?

Hey, @BowsersBuddy. Thanks, I really wish that would've worked, but all of the controllers I own are for the Series X; and seeing as one works with the battery pack, I guess it can't be that. Appreciate the response, though!

@slowlark ah no worries mate, sorry to hear that! I know that the controllers look pretty similar so there was a slim chance that could have been the issue. Hope you get it sorted!
