Topic: Pure Xbox Game Club - Halo 2 (Nov)

I wouldn’t mind dusting off my Xbox to play some gears. Besides that, Conker is the vote I’d go with due to easy availability.

Still wakes deep for me

I vote for Still Wakes the Deep, interested to see if The Chinese Room still make games I like. It’s also short which is likely all I have time for.

I’ll vote for Conker even though it’s likely not going to win again. It’s the only game on this list I own lol. I had to cancel my Game Pass subscription for now, but I’ll get it back soon.

Also, I’ve been missing a ton of games here. Too bad I don’t have the time to play most of them.

I'm almost to the end of Evil West and absolutely loving it. I'm not even sure it's a very good game (for most people) but the combat is fun as hell and it's just combat arena after combat arena with very little story or exploration to get in the way of the chaotic and fun combat. I love that towards the end of the game it is just throwing multiple bosses at you with swarms of basic enemies. There is so much going on and it's so much fun to manipulate the battle field so you can strategically use all your abilities in the most effective manner.

I don't have a vote for next month. I will be travelling most of the month so I will mainly be playing on Switch. I really hope we get an Xbox handheld soon.

@Pastellioli I’m in a similar boat except I’ve luckily grabbed the RR collection right around the time I got an Xbox so I’m not S.O.L.

I'm on the 9th chapter of the game. I read that there are 16 so I'm going to zip through the last part of this game on the weekend and not play anything else.

A couple more chapters down and I'm not going to lie, I'm sort of tired replaying the same bosses over and over. The set pieces and gameplay are great, but there's barely any variety other than "oh you beat this boss last chapter? Now here's the same one plus the 2 bosses from the previous chapter." Kind of bland honestly.

@NintendoByNature yeah, the endgame is about dealing with a lot of the earlier bosses at same time which can get a bit tiring. I don't think I ever done more than a couple of stages in a single play time because of it.

@Balta666 same here. 1 or 2 stages a day and that's it. It's tedious for sure.

Might be shelving it unfortunately guys. I'm on chapter 13( just started). And yes, I'm very close to the end here, but from what I've read online, nothing changes from here on out. You're still just fighting rehashed bosses and groups of enemies at once. Its been that way the entire game. Unless someone here( @balta666) can tell me that things get really great from this chapter on, I'm good with deleting the game and moving on until the next game for the club is announced.

@NintendoByNature can't say it does unfortunately. If you don't care about seeing the story to its end it is understandable.
