There was no less than a dozen opportunities to buy one in the US yesterday if you were paying attention. Had very little trouble buying an X and an S online yesterday afternoon and I'd wager they will be up randomly through the next couple days as well.
Hey folks random question. Does the Xbox need to be setup to instant boot up in order for it to stay on overnight and download games? I got a bunch qued up last night and the system was off this morning and it resumed when i turned it on. I have it on the energy saver mode at the moment.
@Kefka2589 Well that's sooo weird.....I should see how they did mine shortly. I've never heard of shipping high value electronics in their own box, wrapped in plastic. Even Amazon has never sunk that low (though they did ship other exotic things in their own boxes for no known reason. )
I remember when Target was ridiculed as "Walmart for the middle class." Sounds like the tables have turned and Walmart is the classier joint....
I got my today. I had almost heart attack when I opened it and read my receipt. Xbox One S. But thank God there was Series X inside after all. Now I'm downloading some games.
@Kefka2589 My general rule when it comes to oversize retailer's customer service statements is to presume you just called a random retailer in Ecuador and asked....the answer probably as as much utility. Seriously, they have absolutely no idea what the policies are....the people in the warehouse are probably deciding half of this on the fly depending on what's available and how behind they are for the day.
My bet is it ships in a box (will find out...real soon now, they're usually here around now, a little before, or a little after....) It would be bizzarre not to ship in a box. "own packaging" is usually for big items....furniture, exercise equipment, bbq grills, etc, etc... Shipping electronics in its own box would be utterly otherworldly. CS just has no idea what they're talking about (hopefully!)
@HisD1sc1ple For a TV, that's understandable.....if it's not a small TV, no outer box would be big enough to fit it - and rigid enough to fit it without collapsing anyway. I was miffed when Amazon shipped my monitor I'm using for my consoles in its own boxh though. It all went fine...but an LG in a full color satin finish box with "4k" all over it isn't really want you want laying around exposed.....and that would have fit in a box.
@Kefka2589 Haha, yeah that sounds about right, my Walmart XSX return address was some third party company as well, so that may well be it. I got the confirmation of shipping after midnight on that.
Meanwhile, my Best Buy PS5(s) - no emails yet. They emailed bright and early with my XB SSD...but nothing yet with PS5. The preorder confirmation said "ships by Thu 11/12....so technically if it doesn't go out today, it's late. Since I paid with Paypal they already billed it back in Sept, so it's already long since paid for. Somewhat nervous. They came through with the SSD, so hopefully they're just running slow, and my preorder was one of the late PS5 preorders (after 3:00AM) by the time their site was working that day.
@Kefka2589 I just took the plunge and logged into my Best Buy account (I've been avoiding logging into ANY stores in an effort not to jinx it, but I just couldn't wait with the uncertainty anymore after I remembered the weirdness that night that after I placed the order it didn't show up in order history at all, but did show up in the ticker tape, but that seemed fixed a week and half later when I logged in to order the XSX SSD.)
It's updated to show "getting it ready, will ship tomorrow"! So it's a bit late, but the good news is it looks like the order is in good shape and not lost between the cracks (hopefully!) I assume I'll get it Friday if so....but depending on where they ship from, could be Saturday or next week. I'm cool with that....I have XSX to keep me busy
Have been sitting in front of the laptop with my finger often hovering over purchase buttons 😂. Have so far managed to keep myself in check and not commit to buying one.
Edit: in Berlin the Mediamarkt seems to have the console in stock but somehow you can't buy it. Nowhere else has it in stock apparently.
I have been checking sites on and off through out the day hoping to see that someone has an Xbox Series X in stock but no luck. One thing is I can't just be sitting over a PC just waiting for it to pop up as I have other things to do. I don't know how people can do that. I am starting to think of just checking out eBay but they prices are so obnoxious.

Yeah, f going eBay.
Here in Australia, EBGames will be out of stock for a long time. I was extremely lucky with getting a home delivery from Big W, arriving tomorrow.
I just waited to the clock to tick over past midnight fort the morning of the 10th, and started refreshing pages.
