Topic: Dedicated Achievement Hunting Thread

Finished Frog Detective last night for the full 1K, a proper daft game but just what I needed after a decidedly heavy end to the month.

Was also wondering if there is any appetite for doing the RDR II online achievements? I already have a few but still need to boost the MVP and another I forget that involves a posse.

So another lucrative month with the achievement hunting! In the last 13 days I accrued 12k achievements which is boss! I've hit my target and can now have a relaxing month on Octopath Traveller 2 and Diablo 4.

It was a good month for my gamerscore (although nothing compatible with @themcnoisy's ) with 3k+ and I believe only the second time I got that. The biggest contributors are shadow of tomb raider, as previously mentioned, and dungeons of Hinterberg (1000GS).

@Balta666 I've just been playing games which plump up my Gamerscore (Bluey, Botany Manor and Mafia Story) with a few bigger retail games (Samurai Shodown, Forza MotorSport, Powerwash simulator) inbetween.

It's actually becoming harder to invest in RPGs ATM. I game in my living room and it's been like halfway house these last few weeks. Damn family rofl 🤣 So throwing on something quick is preferable to an immersive game as I'm not allowed to be.

@AgentCooper I enjoyed it. It is quite chill in both puzzles and fighting and very easy to complete

This month was average for me with around 1500GS as most games I played were quite stingy with achievements (Blue Dragon I am looking at you...)

I finished Blue dragon, MGS V (+ground zeroes) and Darksiders and also dabbled with Steamworld Heist 2 and Harmony: the fall of reverie (which I have finished today)

@Balta666 I've had another mental month. My wife went on holiday with 2 of my kids and her family (i stayed at home as my 16 y.o son has started at a football club on a course with football as an aside) so I played more than I was expecting.

Add to that. A game I just picked up today for £3 in the sale has 4500 achievement points! Tony and Clyde it's called. Never heard of it. It's actually like hotline miami with worse handling and weird glitches. I've nearly unlocked all the achievements. It's a bit sad really. Super Woden which had 4000 achievements was pretty tough and I had to invest a lot of time, Spyro with 3000 is 3 full games, this with 4500 kind of makes a mockery out of the whole system, but I will finish it nonetheless 😀

Good day fellow hunters, it’s been a while. Popped all the achievements for Cocoon last night, only my second game in about 3 months so feels good to be building momentum again.

@Bob_Salat well done on the cocoon 1000g. My Gamepass lapsed after starting it and I never finished it. I may go back in the future actually.

Cocoon is well worth returning to if you get the opportunity and a relatively straightforward achievement list.

Doing ok mate ta, had a bit of a gaming breather since the summer really as nothing was working for me. Played Dead Space at the end of October and it really got me fired up about playing again.

Currently playing through Halo 2, that MCC achievement list is ridiculous.

Currently playing on Rare Replay which is a strange selection of good old games. But they are all really old and haven't aged as well, as say Halo.

@themcnoisy I haven’t really dived into the collection yet, I only bought it to have access to Goldeneye if I stop GP. I did start Banjo Kazooie, though the nostalgia hasn’t been enough to keep me engaged so far.

Thinking about reaching 100,000 by my 40th birthday. I have 20 months which is just over 3000 gs per month, seems doable ✊

@themcnoisy I haven’t heard of those but will check them out, ta chief.

How do people feel about the lack of Xbox achievements on EA and Ubisoft PC titles on the Xbox ecosystem? I only found out that one can't gain Xbox achievements on PC from those publishers. Eyecandy/more fps versus gamescore. Tough choice. I'm leaning on the former or whichever setup is free on the household.

This year, I'll likely play Immortals of Aveum, Fenyx Rising, and revisit AC Odyssey while I still have a Gamepass sub.

@cardcrusher29 achievements are just an added extra. I don't game for them playing chess on my phone or Nintendo switch. I love achievements and trophies but have an addictive and target driven personality. So having them just on the Xbox is good for me ☺️

That's a good way to go about achievement hunting. An extra. I've sticked around games to hunt a couple more achievements after watching the end credits. I used to just move on to other things. Strangely, I have become more selective since joining Gamepass. I only start games that I think I would enjoy to complete (IE roll credits). How that happened is a mystery to me.

Productive day on the hunt. I boxed off the rest of Indiana Jones and The Great Circle’s achievements for the 💯. A few issues with collectibles in the final area but I found a workaround thankfully. I also spent the evening revisiting Jusant for the 💯 phenomenal game and was lovely to dive back into that world. I’m sitting at 3975 so far for the month 👍
