Topic: Adding Games with Gold without an XBox?

As per the title. I don't have an XBox yet, hoping to get a Series X when it's released, but recently signed up for a Game Pass Ultimate for £1 offer so I could try it on mobile and PC. As it comes with the Gold subscription too I thought I'd add the Games with Gold so I could play them later, but it only gives the option to install the games to a device, no option too add to account. Is this possible?

@graysoncharles thanks for your response; not sure I've explained this clearly though. I've got the Game Pass stuff sorted, it was specifically the free Games With Gold I was wondering about. As I understand it, the 360 and (original) Xbox games are free to keep, which seems to be the case as I can "buy" Costume Quest at the moment for £0 and it shows "Purchased" in the store. The XBox One games don't give that option though, just the option to install to a device. Only problem is I don't currently have a device (yet)!
Can I add these to my game library so that when I do eventually get a Series X I can still play the games that were on Gold at the time I had a subscription but no Xbox?

Not missing much in October, although may have given Slayaway Camp a go. Aragami looks decent in November so hopefully I'll manage to find stock of a Series X on release day. If it's anything like my experience of PS+ Plus on PS3, it'll likely just get added to my backlog and never played!

You don't have to fully download them. As long as you start the process then cancel it, you will still have the game in your library.

@graysoncharles Nothing I want that much that I'd actually have to make friends with someone! Would've been nice to actually add the games to play later though...I'm sure I'll have enough with Game Pass and anything else I decide to buy in the meantime

@graysoncharles Yep I do that all the time. Even if I never plan on playing the game I like to have them in library just in case I want to try them at some point.

If you download the games with gold can you delete them down the road and redownload again as you own them digitally at that point?

Apologies for resurrecting this zombie thread, but browsing through my game library and noticed that the games mentioned in my original posts are actually appearing in my library in the Games With Gold section. Seems that clicking on the Install To Device button actually adds them to your Library even if you don't have a device to download to.
