Topic: Are these actual crack lines?

The UFO accidentally fell down on top of the acrylic piece as I was attaching the UFO to it. You can see the UFO Cow Lamp in the link below. Do you think that I caused the line marks seen in the link below? Could they actually be crack lines or is the thick acrylic material too strong to get cracked and it could be how it was manufactured instead?

I used to work at a sign shop, and we worked with acrylic quite a bit. I'd say it's more likely to be scratches rather than cracks if they don't appear to go right through the thickness of the material.

There are products that will buff scratches out of acrylic quite effectively, but can't remember any brand names off the top of my head though - it's been a long while since I worked there.

The line marks are actually internal and not on the surface of the acrylic. So based on what I'm telling you, what can you tell me about the line marks being inside the acrylic? If the line marks are just scratches, I most likely didn't cause them?

@DarthMaster09 It's hard to tell exactly what the marks are without seeing in person, but if you are saying they are not on the surface I guess they're probably not scratches. I've never seen acrylic crack from the inside, especially if you're saying the marks were possibly caused by an impact - I'd expect it to have scratches or be chipped/cracked on the surface where the impact happened.

It's possible it's a manufacturing flaw or some contaminant that's got in there during the casting process - I've seen hairs and even insects cast into a sheet of acrylic. Sorry I can't be more help

See the yellow arrows pointing at the line marks in the image below? Do the 2 lines on the left and the 2 lines on the right that are going all the way down look like the same lines to you? If so, isn't it unlikely that it's crack lines because how can the 2 lines on the right go so down like that? Isn't it physically impossible for the UFO to create such long crack lines like that? It could just be harmless regular acrylic scratches that I didn't cause, right? The seller said that they looked at other acrylic parts and saw similar lines where mine are. They said that it's likely due to the molding process. But in your very honest opinion, they don't look like cracks based off your experience of working with acrylic? I just want to be reassured that they are either just scratches, some manufacturing flaw or some contaminant. I won't bother you again about this after you answer these questions because this situation is really bugging me, thanks.

Based on the photo and what I've worked with in the past, I'd say unlikely they are cracks.
