With Death Stranding Director's Cut launching out of nowhere on Xbox yesterday, we've taken a look at how the game stacks up across both current-gen Microsoft machines - and the early results are rather good.

While there certainly are differences across both Xbox Series X and S, this is a game that really looks the part on whichever Xbox console you're playing on. Performance is coming across a little smoother on Series X, but the Series S version more than pulls its weight here as well.

Given that Death Stranding has its roots in last-gen hardware on PS4, this perhaps shouldn't be a massive surprise, but it's nice to see another solid Xbox port nonetheless. Our handy comparison video up above is definitely worth a watch if you'd like to get a flavour of Kojima's weird and wonderful title on Xbox Series X|S.

However, we must issue a quick warning that you may want to avoid using Quick Resume with Death Stranding on Xbox - at least for now. There's a major bug happening at the moment that seems to mess up game saves, so it's probably worth fully quitting this one when you're done playing, at least until the team issues a fix.
