Welcome to the weekend! If you're looking for some new games to play over the next few days, we've been treated to a bunch of recent Xbox Game Pass releases, various new free-to-play titles have been getting a great reception on the Xbox Store, and there are lots of Xbox deals that are currently live, including over 150 additions this week.
Here's what we're playing this weekend:

I played Planet of Lana for review last week, so that one's kinda out of the question for me, but I'd still like to spend some time with various other new Xbox Game Pass releases such as Cassette Beasts and Railway Empire 2.
Elsewhere, Hi-Fi RUSH is calling to me (I still haven't finished it yet), and it'd be good to go back to Hogwarts Legacy and complete the tasks that are still left over. Both of those are amazing games, and they deserve more of my time!
Have a good weekend, folks.

I won’t lie, I’m feeling the hype for Metal Gear Solid after PlayStation’s latest showcase, so I’ve decided to replay Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain on the Series X. I do actually have the HD Collection installed too, which contains MGS2 and MGS3, but I think at this stage I’d rather wait until the Master Collection launches later this year.
Since The Phantom Pain is fairly light on story in comparison to the other games, it feels like a suitable entry to dive into now, but I’m definitely itching to replay through the entire franchise soon!

I did have plans to finish off a few already-started campaign games this weekend, but... I'm probably going to end up playing Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.0 most of the time. Infinity Ward has announced a double XP event for this weekend, so I better get cracking with that Battle Pass progress - I've been slacking!
If I do manage to squeeze in some more gaming time this weekend, I'll probably try out the new Alone in the Dark preview that's just gone up on the Xbox Store. A slice of the game is free-to-try ahead of the full launch this October, so why not, eh?
Have a super weekend, guys!

I thought I’d be playing Planet of Lana this week, but I surprised myself on launch day by beating it twice before mopping up some leftover achievements. This makes Wishfully’s gorgeous sidescroller the sixth 100% game for me this year - halfway through my new year’s resolution of twelve 100% games!
So, I’m on the hunt for another game and I’m not quite sure what that is. One title I will be checking out this weekend {thanks to a technical test on Steam) is The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. It’s this Dead By Daylight type game, which is hard but good fun! Thought I’d give it a whirl ahead of its launch on Xbox Game Pass later this year.
Happy gaming folks!

I'm having one hell of a time in the game I'm playing at the moment, and I'll be continuing the grind over the next few days. Oh, you want to know the name of it? You don't need to know that!

Still making my way through Breath of the Wild, so my Xbox is taking a break. I might finish it this weekend (long weekend here) and if so, thinking of giving Planet of Lana a run as a pallad cleanser before jumping into Tears of the Kingdom, since I hear it’s a nice short experience.
I am steadily making my way through Pokémon Scarlet(amazing game, despite its technical shortcomings) with some Age of Empires 2 and Spider Heck on the side.
RE7, End of Zoe DLC
I like punching the molded ones
I'm going to check out the Alone in The Dark demo and after that, I'll probably jump into Mass Effect Andromeda.
Have a nice weekend everyone!
Alan Wake Remastered
I’m still playing the fantastic The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. My affinity for this game has only increased over time — it’s a masterpiece, and will go down as one of, if not the best game of all time.
I just discovered the auto-build feature, and it has come in handy tremendously. Furthermore, the quest to obtain this ability was incredibly fun, and I happened to stumble upon it by happenstance.
Speaking of quests, the main objectives are truly a joy. I’ve been tackling them a little bit more, and reaching the Water Temple was a real blast — literally. That said, some of the initial quests with the Zora was a little confusing with not a lot of context.
Furthermore, I’m 50 hours in, and I’m still experiencing new things. Last night, I discovered a really cool shrine in a unique way. I found this sky island that had a device that you could interact with. Nearby had a shield that is literally meant for sledding. If you activate it, it creates a green orb that you can sled down and through, and it becomes a relay race of sorts. If you manage to pass through all of the circles without them disappearing it will turn into a shrine to explore.
Overall, I’m still taking my time with this game. I’m continuing making notes and reveling in all of its brilliant glory - and being blown away by the game nearly every second, and around every corner.
Zelda and its glorious. Have not switched on the ps5 or series x since it came out, and probably won't until I'm finished. Brilliant game
I'm still going through TOTK, The game is simply incredible..
I finally finished Outriders the other night so I'm either carrying on in Quantum Break now that it's back or going to finally finish the alternate ending in Injustice 2. I have a long history of not finishing games and have been really trying to finish up games since getting the series x. Gamepass does distract you a lot with all the games it has especially when something you wanted to play is leaving and you drop everything to play it.
Switch. Metroid Prime remastered and TOTK
XBOX. Hifi Rush
PS4. Gran Turismo 7.
Switch probably getting the most play at the moment.
Just finished Somerville and will continue to plow into Monster Hunter Sunbreak.
I just started Tears of the Kingdom, so will be spending most of my gaming time on that. I’ll probably get some Halo Infinite in and might start Planet of Lana. Have a great weekend everyone!
I'm mostly playing Zelda: TotK, but I did start Wolfenstein: TNC the other day just to change things up a bit. I didn't get further than about 30 minutes, but it was fun and I will certainly stick with it. Foolish to think I might be able to finish it before the System Shock remake comes out though, so it will have to sit on the back burner for now.
The guys and I finally beat Redfall a couple days ago, so we're moving on to something else, but not sure what yet. We might try out Omega Strikers or just hop back into Sea of Thieves or Gears 5.
I’ll be playing tears of the kingdom and triangle strategy. I need to finish re4 on Xbox tho (I was on chapter 15 when Zelda came out) and would like to try alone in the dark preview
Playing Persona 4 Golden and Far Cry 5. The latter was a suggestion from a couple of the good guys here on the site and I find myself enjoying it quite a lot actually. First in the series for me.
Might have a go at Kirby on the Switch too or perhaps an occasional go at Forza Horizon 5
Totk, that is all.
I suspect one of the PureXbox staff members is telling us they’re playing Diablo 4 too. Can’t wait for the review!
Cyberpunk 2077 on my series x. I’ve held out playing it until fully patched and then it sat on my back catalogue for awhile, until this past month when Redfall turned out to be a bust. I’m loving it!
There are a few recent Game Pass additions I’ve downloaded to try this week/weekend (Massive Chalice, Planet of Lana, etc.) I love how Game Pass gets me out of my gaming comfort zone to try games I probably wouldn’t otherwise check out!
Another Planet of Lana fan here.
Very soon it'll be Diablo IV and SF6.
ZTOTK infinite fun.
Almost done with Planet of Lana, a delightful experience. Going to pour some more time into Cassette Beasts and try out Alone in the Dark, which I’m pretty excited about.
Dragalia Lost (Android) - I'd forgot that this was no longer playable since the server closure.
Imperia Online (Windows Phone) - Time for a management style game again.
Recently bought a copy of Dark Souls 3 for my ps5, will probably make some decent progress in that. I also purchased MGS Collection on Xbox awhile back, and with all this MGS hype for the remake coming up I think I want to experience 2 and 3 finally. Never beaten a MGS game.
If I get some time in it will be Supraland and Planet of Lana
Going for the platinum in bloodborne and then some hiking rush
@Mrta1977 hi fi rush. Stupid auto correct on my phone
Well big week of game beating for me. This week I was able to beat both Xenoblade Chronicles 3 and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. Both excellent wonderful games that I have very little words to describe them because they were just THAT good. Anyway for this weekend it’s gonna be more Tears of the Kingdom and actually working on beating Sifu next so I can use that for some nice trade credit towards Street Fighter 6 at the end of the week. If I can do that I’ll move onto some One Piece Odyssey as I’ve been really loving that and wanting to play more of it. With Xenoblade done tho the next title I’m moving onto might be a little surprising possibly. It’s gonna be Fire Emblem Engage in that nice Monday is the day off schedule slot. As for the anime y’all already know it’s a nice Hell’s Paradise, Mashle, My Home Hero and Cafè Terrace sort of weekend. Happy gaming to all and a happy long weekend to anyone in the US.
I popped into a cex and bought Watch Dogs Legion for a fiver and thought. This game is pretty bad, but watch dogs 2 isn't. I completed it 100% (base game) and am waiting for season pass to go on sale for the last achievements. Sadly, the achievement for completing "hacker wars" did not pop, so I can never say I fully finished the game
@Fishysensei Spiderheck is my favourite couch co op game, very underated
Just finished Supraland, probably my favourite puzzle/platformer game since Portal 2, much more interesting puzzles than the much-hyped planet of Lana in my opinion.
Now playing Railway Empire 2 and can't stop, fantastic strategy game that is much deeper than it first appears.
I’m having a bumpy relationship with my Series X I bought in February but unexpectedly loved Planet of Lana. Will be trying out some more GP titles before FF16 comes out, starting with the Ori’s and possibly a sports game.
I was going to pick up Far Cry 3 on Friday and play it this weekend, but apparently I missed the sale. It went from $5.99 to $29.99. Lol. Imagine that? Nope.
I've been playing Dredge and trying finish the Horizon 5 Rally expansion. Both good fun.
I've been playing star trek resurgence mostly this weekend, great game i love it , but well that's my opinion
The remastered Cities Skylines!!
