The weekend begins! There's loads of check out on Xbox over the next couple of days, including multiple Xbox Game Pass additions, some brilliant Free Play Days titles, and even a few playtests via the Xbox Insider Hub.
Here's what we're playing this weekend:

I'm actually playing a few things I wouldn't normally play at the moment! Instead of checking out Alan Wake 2 via Xbox Free Play Days, I've decided to start with Alan Wake Remastered and pick up the sequel at some point down the line. For whatever reason I've never properly tried it, so I'm eager to delve into it more over the weekend.
The other game that's on my list is Starfield. It's been a while since I last played Bethesda's epic sci-fi RPG, but I'm really eager to finally check out some of the mods that have been added - mainly when it comes to the Star Wars ones. I love the idea of Starfield, but I think it needs that Star Wars edge to really hook me for the long-term.
Have a good weekend, folks!

Another Call of Duty season means I'll be jumping into Black Ops 6 this weekend, and it looks like we're getting a double XP event as well. So far, I've been really enjoying the new Zombies map so I'll probably stick with that for now - I think 'The Tomb' is the best BO6 Zombies map to date!
Alongside some COD action, I'm planning on getting back to Assassin's Creed Mirage this weekend. I picked up that Deluxe Edition bargain right at the start of Xbox's Lunar New Year sale, and have been having a great time with the game so far. This stripped-back Assassin's Creed style is much more my vibe - if you like classic AC then Mirage might be worth grabbing while it's heavily discounted!

Well I have to mention I got my email informing me I'm part of the Elden Ring nightfall beta this week 😊 just saying ha!
But I'll be on indy, sniper elite and I'll start Hogwarts aswell happy weekend peoples!
Played since last week
The Plague Tale Requiem - finished and platinumed. What a game, great story that had me hooked from start to finish, even though it was my second playthrough. Love it!
Life is Strange Double Exposure - its been on my wishlist and its on sale so decided to get it. I'm a bit torn. I'm enjoying it a lot, feels great to play a Life is Strange game again but I really wish they left Maxs (and Chloes) story where it was. It was a great end to it. This game is not at the same level as the first LiS or Before the storm, which are amazing imo, but its not a bad game in itself at all. Just wish they would've gone with new characters as it really doesnt add anything to have Max in it and the game would have been better for it imo.
Sniper Elite Resistance I've only played the first mission on my series S and enjoyed it. It looks a bit ***** though and its glitchy but its fun, more fun than I expected it would be as I dropped Sniper Elite 5 rather quick. We'll se how this one holds up for me but good start.
Eternal Strands - its on gamepass, so gave it 1-2 hours before giving up. Didnt like the combat among other things, and there are better games to spend my time with.
Have a great weekend 🙂
Hello there fellow gamers.
This weekend I´ll continue to play Ninja Gaiden 2 Black and Ninja Gaiden Sigma 1. I´m in a NG phase right now and I´m loving every second of playing both games.
Also want to go back and finish Metaphor Refantazio and Star Wars Outlaws, before the big games of 2025 start coming.
Cheers everyone and happy gaming weekend to us all
I'm trying to finish Persona 4 Arena Ultimax on Playstation so I can turn all my atention back to my Series S.
But that doesn't mean I'm not playing on Xbox.
Been playing (and will continue to) RetroRealms: Ash vs Evil Dead and some MyGM Mode in WWE 2K23.
My XSX is taking a rest after I finished Nier Automata. Now I have moved onto God of War Ragnorok via PC.
This weekend I'll continue playing Tales of Graces f Remastered and Black Myth: Wukong on PS5, Ninja Gaiden II on Series X and on Switch I'll continue to make my way through Cassette Beasts mixed with Balatro.
This weekend I’m still playing Unicorn Overlord, and still completely enamored with it. I think I’m roughly 75% of the way to completion. My goal is to wrap up the platinum trophy within the next couple of days. The game does have you grind a bit, but thankfully you can “skip” battles — not experiencing the animations and battle scenes — and still get experience points. It helps save a ton of time because some of the battles can be time consuming, lasting anywhere between 30 minutes to an hour.
Meanwhile, I’ve set a New Year gaming resolution for myself (and trying to consistent with it) - browse the PSN, or any other digital store front where I play my games, and try out new games regardless of word of mouth or not. Doing so, I came across a game called Bloodwash. It’s a retro, PS1-era first person horror game. It’s essentially a video game form of a slasher film. I found it to be a pretty solid two hour experience and a nice palate cleanser. Moreover, I even got the platinum trophy, which I hadn’t expected.
Taking a break from Stalker 2 to finish my Durge run on BG3 - I’m now in the city itself so nearing the endgame and learning just why my character has all these violent thoughts…
For my gaming this weekend, I’ve got myself a birthday party in a bit, so we’ll be having multiplayer games galore. Probably some Towerfall, Mario Party, Tetris, etc. And then tomorrow… we’ll see if there’s any presents… If not, I think I’ll waffle around with Tetris Effect and Marvel Rivals with friends as a farewell to my vacation time.
On Series X Mostly Minecraft I expect. I have downloaded Sniper Elite Resistance so I will have a look at the that too at some point.
On PS5 GT7 has a good track and car combo for one of its daily races so will be spending some time there too.
Now that I've 100% Indiana Jones I'm finishing a second run through Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, finishing up FFVI, and maybe a little Ninja Gaiden II Black on the side.
Sniper Elite for me (had a level so far, and it feels a lot harder than the one before it).
Finally have full use of my hand again so I'll finish up with WRC this weekend.
Not sure what comes next though.
Happy gaming everyone! 👍👍
Now that I have got a Series X again (I really missed it) I put 7-8 games on download and will be playing the hell out of them. I’ll be switching between Forza Horizon 3 (made a lot of progress here back when I had my previous Series X) and Starfield (put 70 hours into it on PC before selling it, but I have just started my favourite Crimson Fleet quest so I’m looking forward to replaying it).
On PS5, I’m almost done with Alan Wake 2 and it’s a fantastic game, but when the credits roll it will be a while before I turn my PS5 on again, lol.
Lots of stuff on Xbox this week.
On switch.
I'm gonna try some Eternal Strands.
Maybe an hour or two of Indy, I have to be careful with that one.
Whatever you are playing this weekend, have fun!
I’ve just started up eternal strands to see how it plays
Series X - I’ve got to stop playing AoE4 - I can’t seem to go 24hrs without it drawing me back for yet another skirmish. Also playing some Sniper Elite Resistance- enjoyed the first level but finding it tough going on the second (I’m new to this so any gameplay tips welcomed, thanks)
PS5 pro - God of War. Didn’t think this would be my thing but I’ve enjoyed it so far. Still a very long way to go. Also dipping in and out of WRC Generations.
Back at it with Street Fighter 6.
I'm going to finally try to finish Judgement and continue playing Ninja Gaiden 2, with a few rounds of Halo 1 multiplayer (MCC) all on Series X of course.
The Sims (PC) Been wanting to play this game again for a long time. Imagine how excited I was to hear that they were re releasing it. So of course I bought it.
World of Warcraft Classic (PC) I made it to Ashenvale with my Tauren Shaman, a new zone for me to explore.
I just love the feeling of a new weekend and not knowing what I will end up playing… with the new month and trying to play 10 games for the monthly awards probably just dabble… will start with Shady part of me… plays a lot like Contrast
Back to Dead Cells after really long time……just incredible, and so many updates!
I'm still playing The Division 2, Love this game..
Microsoft Wordament (Android) - Dailies and Adventure mode as usual.
Gravity Guy (Windows Phone) - Done with this for now.
Microsoft Minesweeper (Windows Phone) - Still chugging along with this as well.
Indy
NG2 black
FC new dawn
FH4
Some Indy and Forza on the Series X.
Mortal Kombat on 360.
And The Cult of Lamb on Switch.
Happy gaming.
@Kaloudz I think it is the third level for me where the difficulty suddenly spiked and I’ve been awful. Still a brilliant game but it sure punishes you for being sloppy.
I’ve been playing Sniper Elite Resistance which is fantastic if a little tough, not one to play when tired. Sprinkling in some Humanity which is wonderful, grabbing all those goldys is addictive.
Happy gaming, friends 👍
I've never played Ninja Gaiden before so I've been playing Black this week. I'm up to chapter 7 but I'm just finding the controls and camera at times too awkward. So I might give up on it now. I'm going to try Eternal Strands but I'm not sure it's my sort of game. I love Game Pass as otherwise I would likely not even try these.
Well here we go with another interesting WAYP. The week was some good fun games all around. Mostly Trails Through Daybreak, Emio and Metaphor with some Mario and Luigi and WWE2K24. Didn’t beat Metaphor or Emio but got a super good idea for a setup to beat it this week. Kinda realized hey I can make a GOTY list whenever I want I mean look at GDC they do GOTY awards in March of all things. Most of the weekend was spent with Super Mario Party Jamboree and WWE2K24. Jamboree honestly still may be the best Mario Party recently no joke it’s a lot of fun and so pretty. The mini games are peak too. As for WWE2K24 it’s also quite fun even if it’s funny seeing some of the outdated looks for wrestlers like Raquel Rodriguez or Liv Morgan but hey that just means WWE2K25 is gonna be even better hahahaha. Rest of the weekend I’m thinking is gonna be some Space Marine 2. Got a friend I’ve been playing that with and we got a shot to beat that game I think so I’m pretty hype to get that one taken care of. Otherwise I’m thinking this week is mostly gonna consist of some Trails Through Daybreak, Emio, Dawntrail, Metaphor, YS, Mario and Luigi Brothership, Super Mario Party Jamboree, Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake and WWE 2K24. Try to start Donkey Kong Country Returns HD and Dynasty Warriors Origins for real like on the day off. Try to preorder Clair Obscura: Expedition 33 and DOOM The Dark Ages too. The wrestling thing this week being the WWE Royal Rumble. The Women’s and Men’s Royal Rumble matches were amazing and full of awesome appearances like Alexa Bliss and Nikki Bella and AJ Styles and Joe Hendry. And that Cody Rhodes match was utterly insane too and I loved it. Even the Tag Team Champiomship Match with DIY had some absolute banger energy. Anime of the week gotta go to Dragon Ball Daima and Shangri La Frontier and Solo Leveling and Okitsura and Sakamoto Days and 100 Girlfriends. They all continue to be absolute bangers as excellent winter choices. Podcasts of this week gotta go to Castle Superbeast, Big Think Dimension, Into The Aether, RPGsites Tetracast, Minnmax, Jeff Gerstmann, Kit and Krysta, Last Stand Media, Easy Allies, Second Wind, Nextlander, Cultaholic Wrestling, Weapon Wheel Podcast and Remap Radio. As always yall stay safe, be cool to each other. Have a totally amazing weekend and of course Happy Gaming.
@PeaceSalad Right? I finally got past that first level, but damn, that took some time. You're spot on correct. You have zero room for error in this one :/
That Captain Price-wannabe voice over though, eh?
@Kaloudz Ha I knew he sounded familiar, that’s it! “Looks like I nabbed everything” cracks me up every time.
@PeaceSalad LOL! That, and that "That wont stop until I bandage it up" x30 gets under my skin lol. Have you been invaded yet?
@Kaloudz Oh no, I’m too much of a wuss for that. I tried it in 5 and was repeatedly popped in the head from obscene distances 😂
@PeaceSalad I love/hate it. Love it when I get some donkey that doesn't know what they're doing. Hate it when I get a sweat that can no-scope from 5 miles. 😭
@Kaloudz This is the way
