The game is absolutely outstanding so far. I’m four chapters in and have been blown away the entire time. I was skeptical on this remake, but I’m glad my worries went out the window reap quickly.
A*
It’s fantastic, much better than the original an i’m not just talkin about the visuals.
It makes me so happy seeing everyone unapologetically loving a game. That rarely happens anymore so when it does, it's special
Love the setting etc, but struggling with the controls. Feels slow and clunky - but no doubt that's a"me" problem - I'll figure it out, hopefully!
Not bought it yet and don’t plan to anytime soon. I tend to buy these games when they hit sales, since basically all of them are on my backlog.
I’m still “secretly” hoping they remake RE1 in this style, then I get to bienge them all back to back. 😅
@Pepa27 The aiming isn’t great on Xbox due to the dead zones. I want to like this as much as other people do but I just can’t get into it.
Probably the safest 10/10 you can bet on in gaming. I’ve barely started it, but, I mean, it’s pretty much RE4, but with the same REmake treatment as 2 and 3, which, in my opinion, are vastly superior as remakes. I’m loving it so far and I expect it’ll dethrone Hogwarts Legacy as the top seed in my GotY list within a week and will be waiting for challengers in Redfall and Zelda. Jeez, this year will be glorious in gaming.
As long as Capcom patch the controls it'll be one of the best games of its generation.
Again.
Hardcore mode is exactly that. Hardcore 🤣 every chapter is an absolute fight for survival. It’s killing me. Wish I started on standard 🤣
Unfortunately money is tight for me at the moment so I will comment on how the game is in about 2 years when I get it on sale.
Fortunately I have a large back catalogue!
Resident Evil 4 Wii edition is one of my favourite games of all time and probably the definitive version of the original game.
Other then some minor visual issues its been amazing.
@DNortonX That's funny because I'm playing on standard difficulty and I wish I started on assisted...
This game is constantly kicking my arse and I love it, 10/10 for me. I'm at the Island stage now and I'm already dreading you know what...
@ycshinobi I’m dreading it 🤣🤣😭😭😭😭
I do agree it is probably a good remake. Videos and reviews have said as much.
But I will not award my hard earned dollars for a full priced remake. This is not a case where a studio built a game entirely from the ground up. They had a story to follow, they had a game engine to put it in... What they have done is redone the game content assets and improved on an existing game.
I do feel they deserve credit for taking the time to full modernize the game, but not at full price. It is not like they needed a ton of writers and creative directors to build this game.
It’s great. I’m in the castle at the moment and the tone is spot on. Plenty of callbacks to the original whilst still feeling fresh. I love the new stealth mechanic.
I’ll probably wait for a sale tbh. It does look amazing though
