Re: Persona 4: Arena

Vincent294

I got this game on my 360. It's pretty solid. The dialogue can be interesting and humorous at times. The fighting mechanics work well and the anime art style is beautiful much like Rayman Orgins. If you want a stylized fighter or like anime, this is for you.

Re: Review: Child of Light (Xbox One)

Looks like I'll be getting this. Nice to see Ubisoft take such a risk, with one of their big studios at that. They regard video games as both an art and pastime. I'll definitely be supporting this.

Re: Gifting and Loaning Digital Games May Be Coming to Xbox One

Vincent294

If it doesn't have DRM, count me in. Even if it did, it wouldn't be the end of the world. DRM sucks, but some act like it'll ruin every customer's experience. It'll annoy everyone a bit & count a few out, but it's not horrible. Hopefully they do it without it though. Steam could; they could too.

Re: Microsoft Has No Plans on Raising Xbox One Price in Canada

Vincent294

Well, a win for Microsoft there. People have a right to be ticked off about that. Finally, Microsoft has made an intelligent decision on consumer relations reversals aside. Some of the ads are so pompous & even ironic. "Xbox One has the best games" (shows one of the biggest disappointments for it when there are great titles available)

Re: The Music of Grand Theft Auto V is Now Available on iTunes

Vincent294

Nice. If only more games did this. I wish there was an Alternative station w/ songs like Violet Hill, Somewhere I Belong, Moth's Wings, Radioactive, etc., but it still has a good selection. The Xbox's ability to play music while you play games means I can make up for the lack of those songs, as well as some epic stuff from my Legend of Zelda soundtrack.

Re: Nintendo's Reggie Fils-Aime Is Not Impressed with Xbox One Launch Lineup

Vincent294

@Gamer83 He's had some good quotes but lately he hasn't been what he should be. The Wii U is just now starting to look worth getting to me. The Xbox One has too w/ its decision reversals. Considering the platforms' ages, that's not a pretty statistic & I'm not alone on that opinion. Part of that is Nintendo's fault. He should be telling them that. The 3DS's updates aren't going anywhere anymore when it still has a good ways to go, & Wii U still does too. The Wii U on top of that hasn't even got a whole lot of must-have exclusive games yet. Xbox One will get those around the time the Wii U will. They're falling behind.

Re: Hands On: Kinect for Xbox One

Vincent294

Good to hear. Zelda: Skyward Sword, Metroid Prime Corruption, & Mass Effect 3 were 3 games last gen that made good use of motion control / voice commands. Hopefully these improvements mean the Kinect won't mistake crotches & knees as limbs & cut bombs in Fruit Ninja anymore, assuming they make that for the Xbox One. What a wonderful way to lose, right? The new Kinect's accuracy sounds impressive. In a normal household, no matter what the conditions for the most part (except if it's crowded w/ people walking around, of course), the Kinect seems like it will be pretty accurate. Sounds more worthwhile than the last, & w/ Microsoft promoting it more, it will get used more often when it can add subtle improvements (Mass Effect 3 did a good job of this w/ the last one). More games completely dependent on it that are good like Zelda: Skyward Sword & Metroid Prime Corruption were on the Wii might appear on the Xbox One now as well.

Re: Hands On: Xbox One Controller

Vincent294

Cool. That makes an Xbox One more tempting over the PS4, though the Wii U price drop is also very intriguing (I'll probably get an Xbox One after a Wii U in hopes a price drop occurs by the time I get one). I also have to get a new 3DS (got it at launch, put 1,000 hours into the music app, & several hundred more into games. The end result: the analog stick is acting funky). Darn. The 2DS was anything but tempting too, obviously for kids, & not for a core gamer. So much for a slightly cheaper alternative. While the 3DS's 3D was nice, if it cut costs notably at this point I'd take the compromise. Except that's the tip of the iceberg for compromises: it omits the hinge for a tablet-like design. I'll read how the new Kinect is & if it's a worthwhile addition now.

Re: Xbox One Reputation System Detailed

Vincent294

Good to hear. I do think games should avoid impacting it though; you can accidentally do friendly-fire, & I also shoot team members a little bit as a prank sometimes. I hope its reletively insignificant or things could get bad over time.
Also, 100 matches is a bit harsh to be remotely close to being w/ good players again. If someone decides ro turn a new leaf, while it should take a while as proof that you're not trying to ruin good players' experiences, 100 matches is ridiculous. 40 would adequate enough. Most matches are 7-13 minutes or so. Imagine how many hours it would take to turn a new leaf. It would discourage it.
Edit: Actually, 100 matches isn half bad. I just forgot there's 60 minutes in an hour. Never mind.

Re: Reaction: Development for The Masses

Vincent294

This is interesting. I'm thinking of making games in the future & if I could experiment on the Xbox One, that would be nice. Like you said though, there will need to be some sort of certification so people can't sell clones of other people's games.

Re: Review: Fireburst (Xbox Live Arcade)

Vincent294

Why are so many bad games coming out? What a shame. At least Shin Megami Tensei IV is great. I just heard the devs of that are going to be sold. Hopefully Capcom or Nintendo buys them out. Nintendo is working on a game w/ them, so 3rd party that supports Nintendo well or Nintendo themselves seem like the best buyers. I really hope they don't become like Vigil games. So many good devs are in bad situations yet low quality games like these release.

Re: Review: Fast and Furious: Showdown (Xbox 360)

Vincent294

I saw a Let's Play for this on Nintendo Life; it's 15 seconds long. For 7 seconds one of the guys at NLife makes cars fly into the air as an example of the crappy in-game physics. Then, he proceeds to switch from recording to a camera showing him throwing the box for the game in trash can. Best Let's Play ever.

Re: New Online Petition Wants Controversial Xbox One Policies To Return

Vincent294

I think this is overall a good decision, though the game sharing was interesting. Just not worth the other restrictions.
Edit: By that, I mean Microsoft's reversal just to be clear. I'd rather not see the old policies return, at most, a middle ground (like just game sharing & game licenses). A full return of all the policies would be a disappointment.
