Re: Former Xbox Exec Questions Microsoft's Ability To Sell Xbox In Japan

TheArCadeBot

I'm sorry Ed, but I just feel like you haven't been paying attention to Xbox or the industry at all.

Yes, he's a former Xbox exec and did a lot of great stuff for the brand when it was starting out, but holy hell he's clueless about everything going on right now.

Is Japan a place Xbox does super well in? No. Lifetime sales for the Xbox One in Japan were like 114,000. That's not very good. BUT! In less than two years, the Series S & X have sold more than 200,000 in Japan. That is an absolutely huge improvement! And, sure, stock availability has a lot to do with it but just last week we saw a report that for the first time since 2014 Xbox outsold PlayStation consoles sold for a week.

None of that includes the fact that more Japanese games than ever before are available on Xbox now, plenty of Japanese developers have shown interest in Game Pass, and, for the first time, Xbox owns Tango Gameworks. A Japanese studio! It's not monumental, enormous, multi-trillion dollar success by any means, but they're growing in Japan. There is literally no reason to think that it's a bad idea.

Ed, love ya, but geez you've been out of the game for too long, man.

Re: Dead By Daylight Announces Colourblind Options Following Developer Rant

It is unfortunate that the dev’s original remarks are what brought forth the studio’s update. His remarks also could have been said in a much more appropriate manner. However, I think what spurred him into commenting on the issue in the way that he did is not something to be ignored. The internet hivemind of gamers can be incredibly entitled and difficult to put up with. Colorblind support is great and it should be celebrated, but the culture of impatiently harassing developers needs to stop.

Re: Talking Point: What's The Most Underrated Feature Of The Xbox Series X|S So Far?

This isn’t exclusive to the Series X and S, but I can’t get over how much I love Game Pass. Growing up, anytime I got a new game was a huge moment for me. Even if it wasn’t one of the best games ever made, I loved getting new games. Just this week I was able to download Greedfall, Yooka Laylee and the Impossible Lair, Unto the End, SuperHot: Mind Control Delete, Dragon Quest XI, and even more and it’s crazy! It’s never something I would have ever thought possible. Game Pass is the ultimate money saver and it is an absolute dream come true.
