Re: Here Are Your Xbox One and Xbox 360 Digital Black Friday Deals

SuperKMx

@Ryno It basically means that for every race you do, you get 2x the experience points that you normally would, and they increase your player level. Your player level unlocks certain events and things such as new car parts (as far as I remember!) but I found that I would have unlocked everything even without the 2x rewards as the game hands them out plentifully.

Re: Here Are Your Xbox One and Xbox 360 Digital Black Friday Deals

SuperKMx

@Ryno It really depends on how you play. If you play a racing game without really caring about the brand or version of the car, then the Standard Edition will serve you well. However, if you play and think "I HAVE to have the 1994 Honda Civic (or whatever) or this game is going to suck" then check out the extra cars that come in the Deluxe Edition.

For my money, the VIP Pass wasn't really worth it. It gives you a five-car pack and 2x player rewards in-game. I didn't see the benefit of that as the game gives out rewards readily enough anyway

Re: Microsoft's Thank You Gift For NXOE Preview Program Users Is...

SuperKMx

I think one of the problems here is the expectation that was generated which - I'll admit - we're a part of fueling. Nowadays, pretty much any time anyone from Xbox so much as Tweets something like "It's been a good day!", it gets analyzed, reposted, fired up on Reddit, and dissected to death until folks are at fever pitch.

If it was just "hey everyone, here's a free cat thing for your avatar" then that's cool. But because everyone instantly expected "something special" to mean games, store credit, free consoles, extra controllers and all manner of other stuff, it seems somewhat disappointing.

Gotta echo @flameboy84's sentiment about the beta program though. Can't really complain about problems in the beta program when it IS exactly that - a beta program. If the problems become too much, just switch out of the preview program and you'll get the features at the same time as the rest of the world. Hopefully (!) by that point, they'll have been tested and had major bugs squashed. I switched out as it was affecting some titles we had for review, and it took about 48 hours before I was back on the stock dashboard.

Re: Review: WWE 2K16 (Xbox One)

SuperKMx

@Captain_Chao5 Yeah, that was one thing I forgot to mention in the review. I was trying to work out how to target a different wrestler in a Triple Threat match for ages and ended up having to Google it, mainly because the site listed in the help section just gave me an error!

Re: Review: Call of Duty: Black Ops III (Xbox One)

SuperKMx

@The_Man There are some major flaws with your comment.

I assume you're laughing that the Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare that scored 81/100 on Metacritic and which sold circa 18million units could be considered to be "good", right? Absolutely, everyone should just assume your opinion is the fact, and anyone else who disagrees obviously hasn't played the game?

Seems fair.

You wade right in accusing the reviewer of not playing a game he's making distinct comments about and frankly, that made me stop reading the rest.

Re: First 104 Xbox 360 Titles to Support Backwards Compatibility on Xbox One Announced

SuperKMx

@JaxonH Honestly, I don't 100% know the answers to any of those questions!

I would imagine that any version of Fallout 3 would work, since the GOTY edition is just the standard game plus the DLC, and the standard version is...well...the standard version. Simply comes down to if Microsoft have enabled the console to read each specific version of the disc, I guess, unless the detection is smarter than that. I really don't know. I can't see that they'd leave one version out though.

Double and triple packs with games on the same disc might be more troublesome. The console just sees what's on the disc and downloads the Xbox One-packaged version of it, but I don't know if there's anything in there to account for two or three games being on a disc at the same time.

As for Mass Effect Trilogy...that's a thinker. Genuinely couldn't say. Mass Effect is available to Preview Program members at the moment, so maybe someone who has the Trilogy version can tell us?!

Re: Review: Call of Duty: Black Ops III (Xbox One)

SuperKMx

@VoodooTrumpet Not sure how "bitter" it is, to be fair. The reviewer wasn't a huge fan of the game and was honest about it, rather than hyping it up to the moon just because it's a huge franchise. Seems like exactly what reviews should be, to me.

Re: Review: Rise of The Tomb Raider (Xbox One)

SuperKMx

@Utena-mobile I haven't found any "funny" costumes in there, no. You can force people to use specific outfits if you're creating your own level, but that's about it. There may be some in there - could be that I just haven't found them yet!

Re: Pineview Drive Set to Bring More Horror to Xbox One

SuperKMx

@A_BabyRed_Yoshi To be fair, the same could be said of any adventure or horror game though. If you know what's coming, then generally the adrenaline isn't pumping as much. The only difference here is that it ties it into your player's health. Again though, you're less likely to die in any game if you know what's coming
