Re: Rare Replay Installation is One of the Largest On Xbox One

SuperKMx

I think a lot of this is down to the fact that BC titles don't seem to be able to be patched.

Note - that isn't confirmed. I'm just working on the basis that in the Preview Program this week, there was an update to Jetpac Refuelled that required players to delete and then redownload the entire thing (including the emulator, so the download weighed in a lot more heavily than just the game alone would have been.)

I'm wondering if this is a one-off, or if BC games just can't be patched for some reason. If that's the case, then putting the games on the disc may be something of a waste of time what with BC still technically being in development.

Re: Prototype Biohazard Bundle shape shifts way to Xbox One Today

@Diamond78 We've JUST got a press release through about it, and it says this...

"Each game in the PROTOTYPE BIOHAZARD BUNDLE includes exciting content and features for fans and newcomers to the series alike. Both titles have been updated for a new generation of hardware with Full HD rendering, improved framerate, and higher-resolution textures and effects. Moreover, PROTOTYPE 2 contains all of the DLC that came with the original RADNET Edition of the game, as well as the majority of in-game content previously offered through retailer pre-orders."

Re: pX Asks: What Does Xbox 360 Backwards Compatibility on Xbox One Mean to You?

SuperKMx

@JLPick Hey there...I'll do my best to help

Can you download TV episodes/movies bought on Xbox 360, on Xbox One? Yes. If you bought them via Xbox Video, then your library will be available on your Xbox One.

Do you need to be connected to the internet to play your downloaded games/watch your downloads? Nope. As long as you're playing the games on your "Home" console (which is what Microsoft calls your main console) then you can play without a connection. Not sure about downloaded movies, but I assume it's the same thing.

Hope this helps!

Re: Xbox One Backward Compatibility Will Support DLC

SuperKMx

@JaredJ The reason for that is that Wii games aren't being republished. You just put the Wii disc in and the Wii U runs it from the disc via emulation.

On Xbox One, they need to actually repackage the software - even if you're using a disc-based copy - so you can download the Xbox One compatible version. That needs the original publisher's permission. :/

Re: Yes, Rare Replay Will Be Bundled With the Relevant DLC

SuperKMx

@flameboy84 I've no idea how the Rare Replay specific features would work with them, but I can see the logic behind it all.

End of the day, if you're repackaging the games to work as backwards compatible titles on the system, I guess it saves time to just access those, rather than repackaging them again to work within the confines of Rare Replay. Like I say though, I might be totally wrong! I just heard it worked that way from someone at E3.
