I mean as far as offering another choice, this has merit. The standard console would still be available of course. My Xbox One is my primary Blu Ray player, so I wouldn't be interested, but I imagine if they included some extras like a lifetime digital purchase discount and a year of Xbox live, as well as a $199 price point and a Free game. The value would be worth it to anyone who doesn't care about physical media.
(1) Thing to show off Graphics (1) Thing to show off Halo 5 (1) Thing to show off Gears Trilogy remake (1) Thing to show off Gears Future Game (1) Thing to show off traditional platformer Banjo Threeie actually being a thing and coming this year. (1) Thing to show that a legit Conker Bad Fur Day sequel is coming next year. (1) Thing to show that the original Xbox version of Bad Fur Day is available at that very moment on Xbox Live, oh then blow people away by telling that an Xbox and Xbox 360 virtual console will be coming, and then drop another bomb saying that if you have disc copies of VC games they release, you don't need to buy the digital copies to play them on your XBOX ONE. (1) Mic to drop.
Minecraft is going to be business as usual. After E3 2013, the MS we have now is a new MS. People are so cynical right now, but no way would they buy Mojang for $2.5 Billion and try to alter the indie spirit of the game. Just look at all the changes they have made to their indie policies. For one thing, I know people like to make comparisons to Rare, but there are many differences. Besides MS turning a new leaf as it were.
Rare was bought for $375 Million. They were supposed to turn the game upside down and pump out Perfect Dark Zero as a launch title. The game they made wasn't a hit. Kameo was their original offering, which wasn't a hit. They leveraged Banjo Kazooie as Nuts & Bolts, and it wasn't a hit. I don't blame MS for this. The company was bought my MS and a group of them split off and created another company that went on to make Timesplitters. MS then started using the Rare team to create Kinect stuff and their version of the Mii. With the Xbox One, we are full circle. Finally leveraging KI, and finally acknowleding Conker's existence in Project Spark. So MS realizes they have these franchises, but they need to make a game people want with those franchises, which Rare already proved they are not great at anymore. They leveraged KI by hiring another dev to create it. So what exactly is Rare doing anymore? I would love to see Conker return, BK too. But they need to be done right. Not sure why MS hasn't pushed for this though.
The difference here is that Minecraft is a game people are playing and want to continue to play. It is a huge hit on every platform. MS doesn't need to do anything but let it keep on keeping on, and probably work on getting it on their Windows phones. I think they can probably do a good number on improving resources for updates, and could probably bring Realms in house on Azure servers. Point is, Mojang can't be another Rare. It isn't depending on their next big hit, it's depending on hit that keeps on hitting. This will be a homerun for MS, and for the fans of Minecraft, we don't need to worry.
If they continue to update this game, Minecraft 2 will never be needed. It could be as timeless a phenomenon as Legos but for all ages.
I'm all for MS taking this over, I just hope they continue to update the current iterations of the games with more content/features.
I have always wondered at what point is it time to make Minecraft 2....or just keep updating Minecraft 1. I guess as long as Minecraft keeps selling like hotcakes.
I have to wonder though, will the feature-set be as robust this time around like the current 1.8 PC version? This last update added so many things, it would be nice to see if the console versions could stay on par with the PC development.
Hmm....but the thing is my Xbox One would be on because I watch my TV through it. It's when my friends say "Xbox Record That" while in a silent room and wearing a headset that Kinect picks up my headset and my Xbox also records it, now thats funny.
So I tell my friends, hey, if you want to see that from multiple perspectives...
Do not buy anything that attaches to your Xbox One...and do not buy an intercooler....With the Xbox 360, the intercooler was actually doing more damage than good, and MS would void the warranty if they saw the telltale markings of the intercooler on an overheated unit.
The Xbox One was engineered to cool itself properly, anything short of a device that actually cools the air going in the intake I wouldn't recommend.
@Anthinator This very article says, '' The multiplayer beta will boast "60fps on dedicated servers," and will have "new spartan abilities." '' So we know something, but I think they woudl have said 1080P if it was going to be that.
Not that I care really, but you know if it's not 1080P the internet will go ape over it. I just want it to look good no matter....Halo 5 needs to say, this is next gen Halo.
Well, if true, this would be something I would consider to be really "next gen." After Halo introduced 4-player co-op in full campaign mode, I am really surprised it didn't become the standard, which COD only trying it out in WAW, and never revisiting it.
Phil Spencer Tweeted: "June #XboxOne software dev kit gives devs access to more GPU bandwidth. More performance, new tools and flexibility to make games better" How is this not news yet?
OK but there is a problem with the options on the poll. What if you are OK with them making multi-platforms as long as they are made by two separate teams, one using a next-gen only engine. Thats what they are doing with FH2.
Might want to make note: not a cross-gen game. This is being made in similar fashion as Titanfall, where the main game is being made by the developer, and a 360 version farmed out to a third party. This means that the engine for the Xbox One is a next gen engine. Particularly, it has been confirmed that they are utilizing the FH5(modified) engine for this game.

Re: According To Microsoft, This Is Why The Xbox Series X Looks Like A Fridge
12.155 vs 10.28 is 1.875 TF. The PS4 was 1.84 TF. So basically the Xbox Series X Is a PS5 and PS4 combined.

Nothing to apologize for honestly. All that content will be worth it. No issues with space since I have an external 4TB HDD.

@Gamer83 Buying digital or not, it still takes up space on your HDD.

Re: Microsoft Not Satisfied With Japanese Xbox One Sales Figures
They like their Nintendo over there. That being said, no killer Japanese app, or exclusive Japanese game to interest them.
