Re: So Long, And Thanks for All the Clicks

Falco1863

Thank you to EVERYONE at PureXbox for the wonderful articles and reviews, and the civil discussions about all things game related. I could always count on getting my dose of Xbox-related info here in a friendly, encouraging, and fun environment, with intelligent and (sometimes;) ) witty repartee from the authors and readers. God speed to everyone involved at PureXbox in their future projects!

Re: Review: Homefront: The Revolution (Xbox One)

I thought that this game was a great rental. I enjoyed the first one, and I enjoyed this one, as well. I played them for the story, which I enjoyed. I had the game freeze on me 2 or 3 times in the week that I had it, and 1 time I was stuck in the environment. Those were the biggest issues that I had with the game. My biggest complaint (which most people won't care about) is that the NPCs seem to know only one word - the F-bomb.

I didn't play the multiplayer, though, so I cannot comment on that. Personally, I give it a 6 out of 10.

Re: E3 2016: Battlefield 1 Operations Mode, Maps, Classes & More New Stuff

I'm REALLY looking forward to this, and also really hope that it touches on all of the major combatant nations. I know I'm biased, but I'd like to be able to play as a French soldier, even if it's just a multi-player skin. I know here in America we focus about 99.9% on the US involvement, but there was over 3 years of war up to that point, and millions of casualties before we got involved.

Re: Deals With Gold: Every Sport and More Discounted

Thanks, guys! As for NHL 17, I can't see spending $60 on the yearly iteration of a sports title. I've travelled that road in the past, so now I just pick up one of a sports releases and play it over-and-over until the next generation of systems. I have NHL 15 for XB1, and I enjoy it, but I don't like that I can't just play a season in it. I'll definitely try NHL 16 on the free days and see how it is.

@Utena-mobile
Well, like a few others on here (we happy few!), I'm from a different generation of gaming. I grew up with my parents Pong machine, my brother's Coleco-vision, and I remember when I got my Atari 2600 (aka the "junior") from my dad as a present! Thank goodness we had ONE tv that it could hook up to, and it was COLOR!

And, Ninja Turtles (like the original Transformers) are timeless!

Re: Next Assassin's Creed Confirmed for 2017 Release

I loved AC 3 and had no issues what-so-ever with Unity. I actually had more bugs with Syndicate. I guess this will get the "haters" to rejoice, but I love the series and enjoy the new series with its vignettes going into differing time periods (WW2, Medieval, etc.). I just hope the series doesn't stray from its history-based roots of Assassins vs. Templars.

Re: E3 2015: DayZ on Xbox One Could Feature An Offline Single-player Mode

Falco1863

@KelticDevil - That's one of the reasons that I've put down Destiny. I was the new guy, trying to do the little missions that pop up and advance in levels, and high level characters would fly in and kill everything; the exact same situation you experienced. I'm not a huge fan of always online games like that, but I've found Titanfall to be a lot more enjoyable experience, personally. It seems to be more geared for players like me than COD, especially.

Re: Review: Neverwinter (Xbox One)

I enjoyed this game. It takes some getting used to the controls, but I DID eventually figure out how to jump! It's fun to pick up and play to kill an hour or so before bed. I recommend it for people who like Diablo, Baldur's Gate, etc.

Re: Editor's Opinion: Indie Game Promotion on Xbox One Has to Change

Falco1863

I had no idea how much goes on just to get the word across! I agree that the Xbox One dashboard needs an overhaul. The recommeded 3 games taking up most of the screen always seems a waste, to me. Trying to locate and view the different games is so non-user-friendly. I actually prefer the buggy Playstation Store on my PS3, even IF it causes my system to crash.

Re: Feature: Remembering When Mortal Kombat First Wrapped Its Hands Around My Beating Heart

Falco1863

TOTALLY bringing back the memories! My first name is "Shaun" and my nickname in middle school was "Mortal Shaunbat" (yes, my middle school yearbook has that written in it by numerous people). I was Subzero from MK1 for Halloween one year, and then Kung Lao from MK II after that game came today, and finally Kano from MK3 after its release. I had the same issue of Gamepro and memorized all the moves and fatalities, etc the same way.

MK3 was the game that turned me off of the series until MK9, and you should DEFINITELY play Shaolin Monks. I have that for Xbox and my friend and I STILL will play that one every so often. Thanks for bringing back some great memories!
