Out of nowhere, Xbox has released its latest trailer for the brand today, and it's a pretty creative one that stars a human rat - or at least a rat who turns into a human! The tagline for it is "wake up the human inside".
As you can see, it revolves around a rat-like human who's clearly suffering from the daily grind of the rat race, but as soon as he clocks off and returns home, he's able to reawaken his human side by playing some Xbox games.
Here's the official description for this new Xbox trailer, which is entitled "Wake Up":
In Xbox’s Wake Up, directed by David Fincher and Romain Chassaing, a wonderfully off-beat fairy tale unfolds: Horatio, a rat, rekindles his humanity through the joy of gaming. We follow Horatio through a day in the rat race: a packed commute, the drudgery of the office, a rushed lunch at his desk. The mundanity is interrupted by glimpses of mysterious gamers—the only humans we see amongst the rats. After a long day, Horatio powers on his Xbox on his Samsung OLED TV and connects with his friends. A much-needed dose of fun transforms him into the human he always was.
The directors of this new Xbox rat trailer have worked on all sorts of popular projects - particularly David Fincher, who's known for his work on Seven, Fight Club, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Social Network and much more.
Again, the trailer clearly puts a focus on multiple devices as well, featuring glimpses at an Xbox Series X, an ASUS ROG Ally, a phone and a PC. So, what do you think? Liking the tone of this trailer? Tell us in the comments below!

Ha, that's a pretty sick trailer! I approve!
This is where the marketing budget goes? Smh…
Very good.
Although us all becoming couch potatoes glued to our TVs through gaming and streaming channels while living off Deliveroo is quite far removed from what it means to be human. Which is why I cancelled all my streaming channels, stopped using takeaways, do a lot more home cooking and now the warmer weather is here go for long walks in the countryside. These last couple of years I've felt much better both physically and mentally.
I get it, though. I use gaming as a way to shut my brain off from the day to day tedium of work. It's a great escapism.
@NishimuraX it is as they say, anything in moderation. 😊 Glad to you hear you're doing better. 😃
@Simu001
Well I wasn't doing too bad before, but like so many, certainly since lockdown, I found myself falling into the trap of getting home from work and just lazing out on the sofa. As a society we're slowly becoming like the humans in the film Wall-E. Completely disconnected from who we are while being connected to a digital world 24/7. It's not normal and, I believe, very bad for our physical and mental well being.
Yes moderation is key, but as I see it few employ such a mindset and it's seemingly encouraged by the ruling classes.
Ah it's nice to see some sort of marketing from Xbox again even if it features a console literally nobody can buy Haha!
@Ricky-Spanish i would say that’s a lie but i’m getting it’s europe related
@Kaloudz i wish people would just enjoy the things they have now instead of worrying about the future
Seems expensive and takes too long to get to the point. How hard is it to showcase an Xbox console and some great games and get people excited?
@donv2135
It's not a lie, certainly not in the UK/Europe. No one seems to be stocking them and even if they do it's insignificant stock levels. Which ever way you cut it it's not a good look for Xbox, certainly when you factor in that you can pick up a Switch or PS5 with no trouble at all.
@NishimuraX well, i personally hope they get that fixed soon,
@donv2135
I honestly believe they're winding this generation down outside the US.
While I no longer buy consoles myself I'm genuinely curious as to what Microsoft's plans for the Xbox brand are outside of their home territory. They've certainly a hill to climb in the UK and Europe.
Whoah, they are actually promoting the console that they make? Radical thinking from the marketing department there - completely contradicting their previous strategy of ‘the odd tweet about it or nothing at all’!
@donv2135 Some people just cant be pleased lol.
