Activision is rolling out Season 3 of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 this week and in case you missed it, console players on Xbox platforms will be given some new crossplay multiplayer options to reportedly combat PC cheaters.
One setting in particular, available in Multiplayer Ranked Play, Warzone Ranked Play, and Multiplayer Unranked will allow you to enable crossplay with "consoles only", effectively isolating players on PC.
In Season 03, we're giving console players more granular options by separating the MP Ranked Play and Call of Duty: Warzone Ranked Play settings and adding a new Multiplayer-only setting for Quickplay, Featured, and Party Games matches.
Each of these three settings (Multiplayer Ranked Play, Call of Duty: Warzone Ranked Play, and Multiplayer Unranked) will include the following options:
- On: Enables matchmaking with all gaming platforms when playing in the selected playlists.
- On (Consoles Only): Enables matchmaking only with other consoles when playing in selected playlists. May negatively impact matchmaking queue times.
- Off: Restricts matchmaking to your current gaming platform only in selected playlists. Will negatively impact matchmaking queue times.
The other option, as you can see above, is to enable crossplay across "all gaming platforms" including PC and you can also turn the crossplay option completely off. You can get additional details about all of this via Call of Duty's patch notes page.
This is all part of Activision's ongoing commitment to "taking down cheat makers", "banning bad actors" and ensuring a greater player experience overall. Its roadmap for "anti-cheat" will also extend beyond this new season.

This is all I needed to hear to dive back in.
This is a real good decision. Besides anti cheaters minor keyboard and mouse knights.
Why limit yourself to ranked games?
It's a start, but it still doesn't make me want to return to this series, which hasn't been a true Call of Duty for almost a decade.
What we're asking for is an option to completely disable cross-play with PCs and offer "consoles only" cross-play.
Why not in warzone unranked? I might have come back if that had been the case
