It's been quite a wild few months for Team Xbox, hasn't it? Aside from even more PS5 release dates rumoured and formally announced, we've also had some surprise reveals for Xbox Series X|S - alongside an unfortunate delay to Microsoft's Fable reboot.
And so, Xbox super-fan Klobrille has provided us all with another Xbox Game Studios roadmap as we look ahead to the rest of 2025, 2026, and beyond. The updated roadmap adds the likes of Towerborne and Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4 into the mix - alongside shifting Fable into 2026.
Here's a look at the roadmap, courtesy of Klobrille on BlueSky:

With a couple more Xbox titles now added for the coming months, 2025 is looking particularly stacked for Team Green. We now have South of Midnight and Towerborne launching in April, before DOOM: The Dark Ages drops in May and Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4 speeds its way onto Xbox Game Pass in July. And that's before we find out about the team's Fall lineup; likely featuring The Outer Worlds 2.
As we mentioned earlier, Fable has now been moved into next year - and is currently the only Xbox Game Studios release properly named for 2026. We'd expect plenty more to arrive next year as well though, especially when you look at the end of the roadmap and see all of the options Microsoft has at its disposal!
Which of these games are you most excited about? Tell us down below, and as always, thanks to Klobrille for the handy XGS graphic!

This is pretty cool to see, i wish someone would to this for Playstation. Only thing i don’t get is why the previous 4 years always need to be included with the roadmap.
Oblivion remake will probably also soon be announced
It's such a naff info-graphic. I mean, if you are going to show past releases, why not start with the original Halo and be done with it?!?
Just show the upcoming games. That's all you need. It's almost as if they are trying to pad out what Xbox has upcoming. In years gone by, that would have made sense, but now that Microsoft has so many studios, there really is no need to plug the gaps anymore...
@LogicStrikesAgain it’s far more than 4 years they have Ori and the Will of the Wisps (2017),
Gears 5 (2019), Bleeding Edge (2020) and more.It made a lot more sense when “Xbox had no games” (it did, I’m just using the expression that people said) and they were trying to over emphasise that, but now juts looks a bit weird tbh.
It would be much easier to read if it focused on 2025 onwards, why it needs to have absolutely everything on there going back half a decade ago I don’t know.
Damn, people complain about anything nowadays. 😂
I'd love any little info nugget on Contraband and was very happy to my personal most anticipated game still on that list.
Glad they showed a lot of the past releases. Although some of it as a multi system gamer aren’t “new” releases, it does help show what games have come out and the cadence. That can get lost if you own the game on another system already. Nice to see what is in the pipeline.
One hell of an impressive slate, but for me State of Decay, DOOM, and Fable are the most anticipated of the list.
The Outer Worlds 2 is the only Xbox game I'm looking forward to for 2025. It's a big shame about Fable moving to 2026 but if it is better for it then that's a good thing. I will keep an eye on Ninja Gaiden 4.
I honestly keep forgetting OW2 is slated for this year. I don't know how the hell Obsidian is doing it, but they've been killing it since their acquisition into Xbox Studios. Wish the other studios would show the same level of activity. Can't help but wonder what a few of these studios are even doing. Really with we could get some news from Double Fine and Toys For Bob in particular.
@Kaloudz I can’t wait to see State of Decay 3. I’m actually hoping they push multiplayer to a MMO PvPvE style while keeping the single player game style there.
I love multiplayer games. Gears of War ED I’m also excited for
@Deshalu I'm massively excited for it too. I came in at SoD 2 and loved it. I think they're gunna really surprise us with the third game. I just hope they remove plague hearts. Or at least make exiting a world more reliant on something other than destroying a few of them.
I also wonder if we get multiple worlds, or a larger more dedicated world with different biomes. I reckon we see it at the summer showcase with a 2026 release date - and then at 2026 dev direct with a Q1-2 release window. (Based on rumours that it's closer to completion than we expect).
@LogicStrikesAgain I got the roadmap for Playstation, everything is cancelled and the studios are all starting over.
Back in the console war days when the “Xbox has no games” or “Halo, Gears, Forza” comments ran rampant I could understand this, but now that Xbox is a third party publisher it seems unnecessary. And dating back to 2020 isn’t needed. I’m interested in the future, not the past.
It is cool seeing the release schedule for upcoming games. Nice to know what to expect in the future of gaming! Especially after PlayStation’s whiff on Live Service games.
Smh the guy needs a job instead of pretending to be xbox's road map art director. To much time on his hands
