If you've been a fan of sports games at any point in your life, you've probably come across the name Sensible Soccer - a series of football / soccer games that proved extremely popular back in the early-mid 1990s.
A few years ago, the so-called "father" of that series decided to set up a new studio and build something called Sociable Soccer, which took a while to get off the ground, and was supposed to come to Xbox back in 2022.
However, we've now finally got a date for the Xbox version! Sociable Soccer 25 has a release date of April 3rd, 2025 for Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, and it'll be available at a price of £19.99 / $24.99.
Here's more about what you can expect from Sociable Soccer 25 on Xbox:
Fresh from the creative mind of Jon Hare, the creator of 1990s hit title ‘Sensible Soccer’, Sociable Soccer 25 fuses fast-paced arcade action with squad building and strategy that keeps players coming back for more.
Sociable Soccer 25 represents the most complete version of the fantastic football game, with up-to-date player, team and competition data for the 2024/25 season for over 1,400 club and national teams, and featuring more than 13,000 FIFPRO™ licensed players for gamers to collect and upgrade. All of this content is complete and available with no hidden costs via costly loot boxes, in-app purchases or added microtransactions: a rare feature in today’s gaming landscape, and one that has been embraced by fans of the series.
I've played a bit of Sociable Soccer 24 on Nintendo Switch, and although I don't think it hits the heights that Sensible Soccer did back in the day, the gameplay is good fun - and the Ultimate Team-style career mode can be pretty addictive.
The 2025 version should bring even more improvements to Xbox fans in a week's time, and I'm eager to get my hands on it and start building a dream team. If you are too, I'll throw a few more details below along with some screenshots!
- More than 13,000 FIFPRO licensed professional players to collect and upgrade
- Control and manage your squad with no loot boxes or costly DLC
- Huge online league system with 10 divisions to conquer
- Up-to-date player, team and competition data for 1,400 world teams
- Over 80 world football trophies to win
- Fast, intuitive arcade gameplay, easy to pick up, but hard to master
- Two Player Couch Clashes to relive the good old days, playing against a friend in the ultimate face-to-face match up!
- Clan play representing the club that you love against rival fans

- Multiple ways to play: Coach (just watch and learn), Casual and Pro
- A host of unique referees, each with a different personality and style, to keep you on your toes

This looks really good a nice change from eafc and for a decent price with real players and teams aswell I think my built up reward points will go on this!
I love the concept of this so much and hope it succeeds, loved Sensible Soccer back in the day... but I also have no personal interest in it.
Oh my ... Sensible Soccer! I put an absurd amount of time into Sensible World of Soccer on the Amiga. This might be the something I will take a look at for old times sake.
Back in the day, I played Sensible Soccer every day with my mates on the Amiga and still play the game now... I would love to know my time played 🤔 I'm definitely interested in this.
I should point out that I don't believe there's any online PvP in Sociable Soccer 25, so it's all single-player (or couch multiplayer) based as far as I'm aware.
That said, there is a "huge online league system" as mentioned.
Mmmmm, that brings back memories. One to keep an eye on me thinks.
Definitely going to get this once it’s released. Looks pretty fun and decent to play. Like the fact that it’s not too serious and more casual also.
