It was all the way back in 2022 that we first talked about Hell is Us here at Pure Xbox, and it's finally almost time for us to play it - the game is releasing for Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S on September 4th, 2025.
Today, at Nacon Connect 2025, we got a glimpse at a few more minutes of gameplay, with the biggest takeaway from our perspective being that the game looks freakin' beautiful! Seriously, some of these shots are absolutely spectacular.
Looking back to IGN's preview of Hell is Us last September, they seemed pretty excited by what they played - describing it as a "distinctive sci-fi action-adventure" with a focus on "exploration, investigation, and tense melee combat".
Let's hope it lives up to the hype, then! We'll throw more details about Hell is Us down below.
If war is the closest we get to hell on earth, it's because Earth harbours the worst of demons: humankind. In an isolated country ravaged by infighting, discover the secrets of your past and deal with the repercussions of a mysterious calamity.

Immediately uninterested with health bars overhead and everywhere
Can't stand games where you don't know where to go, so this one is an easy pass for me. I don't have a lot of time nowadays.
Styx goblin stealth game is coming back!! I found the first one super randomly n really liked it. Stoked to see its getting another game!
First time I've heard of it. Hoping the gameplay is as appealing as the visuals.
@Lup Same here. Don't get me wrong I don't mind no handholding, but no direction is much, much different and far beyond frustrating in games that have wide open environments.
