Random: Xbox Fan Shares Clip Of Microsoft's Console Factory Line From 2006

Look, we're not out here to ruin anyone's day or anything, but the Xbox 360 is officially 20 years old this year. You read that right, November 2025 marks two whole decades since Microsoft's seminal Xbox console first launched - which is a bit of a scary thought, if we're honest. However, we do have lots of nostalgia for that period, and an old video clip has resurfaced that transports us right back to the time of Project Gotham Racing and Gears of War.

Shared on Reddit earlier this week, an old video clip from now-defunct outlet '1Up' depicts an old Xbox 360 manufacturing line from circa 2006. Here, we can see original Xbox 360 models being put together ahead of retailers stocking them on store shelves.

Looking back now, this is such an iconic console design, and no later Xbox 360 model ever captured that same magic, did it? Sure, it felt a bit plasticky to touch and we of course remember the Red Ring of Death fiasco (which we're painfully reminded of in this video), but still - what a console and what times we were living in back then as Xbox fans!

As we close in on that 20-year anniversary, we do hope Microsoft commemorates the Xbox 360 in a big way later this year. It continues to be their most championed era for lots of gamers out there, and after the amazing 2021 celebrations for OG Xbox, we have high hopes for something similar later this year. How about another batch of backwards compatible titles, eh Microsoft?

Is this clip making you all teary-eyed and nostalgic? Talk to us about this early Xbox 360 era down below.
