Killer Instinct rolled out a special Anniversary Edition update in late 2023 and now it's making a comeback on the biggest fighting game stage in the world.
Today, in a bit of a surprise announcement, EVO revealed its main game lineup for 2025 as well as an "extended" roster - including Killer Instinct. Alongside it will be Rivals of Aether II, Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O, The King of Fighters XV and BlazBlue CentralFiction, with "more to come".
"These games and their communities still deserve to have an official tournament, tournaments run by EVO, that take place on EVO's stages, are showcased on EVO's streams, and earn EVO medals for the top eight."
More of these additional game announcements will be shared during EVO's awards preshow, taking place next month.
As for the main event, this year's titles include Street Fighter 6, Tekken 8, Guilty Gear Strive, Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising, Under Night In-Birth II Sys:Celes, Mortal Kombat 1, Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves and Marvel vs. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes. EVO 2025 will take place in Las Vegas between 1st - 3rd August, 2025.
