Indiana Jones and the Great Circle was one of Xbox's biggest game releases last year and it's now been nominated for the New York Awards' 14th annual 'Game of the Year' award.
It will be going up against Balatro, Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth, Astro Bot, UFO 50, 1000xResist, Metaphor: ReFantazio and EA Sports College Football 25.
Apart from this, the Great Circle has received nominations in multiple other categories including 'Best Writing' and 'Best World', and Indiana Jones voice actor Troy Baker has also been nominated for 'Best Acting'.
Melina Juergens has also picked up a nomination for her role as Senua in Hellblade 2, Age of Mythology: Retold is in the running for 'Best Remake', and Diablo IV: Vessel of Hatred is up for 'Best DLC'.
The winners will be revealed later this month on January 21st, and tickets are available via the official site.
If Xbox scoops up any of these awards, we'll let you know.

Melina did a great job but Troy takes the cake. Indy was the best game I played this year.
If Indy doesn't win I will riot. Yes it is that good of a game.
I'm impressed by what I have seen so far in Indiana Jones.
In my opinion what truly prevents it from greatness is pacing. The sandbox, open worldish levels outstay their welcome and the game would have needed more "forced" action sequences. Last few levels were linear with some action parts and they were very entertaining.
But really, amazing work with a lot of care, attention to detail and historical accuracy.
Was my GOTY. Shame it wasn’t out in time for Geoff Keighley’s event but im sure he would have overlooked it.
Indy,Elden Ring and Alan wake lake house for the win!
Indy for game of the year, best writing, best world game
Melina Juergens for best acting
Final Fantasy 7 : rebirth for best remake
Elden ring shadow of the erdtree for best DLC
Indy deserves a reward or two here, awesome game!
@xxk7xx I think it's all really cool world building, but just too many notes and photos to find! However, it's been such an entertaining game despite that that it's a 10 for me personally.
Deserves it's place on these nominee lists
I am so lost with all this praise for Indy. Was exited for it but its the biggest disappointment of the year for me. So much is so wrong with it it makes it impossible for me to pick it back up? On the other hand I'm not a CoD fan but I'm really enjoying the latest instalment. I'd never have tried it if not for GP.
I'd love to know why people this its the best game this year? My review would be:
Pros:
Cons:
6/10
To be fair I haven't made it passed the Vatican yet. Does it improve after this or do I just not 'get it'? Would be interested in other opinions of why they love it so much (without spoilers obvs )
Good luck to it.
@StonyKL I do actually agree with you on your points there. I started to play it, but I just don't feel the urge to jump back in at the moment.
Astro Bot was easily my GOTY but I do want to play Indy, have it installed on my PC.
Astro bot or Rebirth is my GOTY but Indiana Jones is up there still need to finish it but what I've played is great.
Black Myth fans meltdown in 3... 2... 1...
Indiana jones 😂 whoever nominated these games needs to be investigated for drug use because indiana jones is the most boring game ever made, whole list is just stuff critics loved not real gamers.
The only game that is slightly decent is stalker 2 and even then that's garbage, most people probably quit that because they took so long to add the ai system that was supposed to be in at launch, i know i did.
@StonyKL it's fake praise for games that had fake hype, i never got past the vatican either because i was so bored but let me tell you when you leave the church library type building and go into the courtyard with the tents, there is a small toll booth looking thing, i took a gold coin from a tent which aggro the guards and i just went into the toll booth while one by one 30+ guards came for a punch, by the end there was a giant pile of them there, turn the corner to go to get the camera from the post office then a couple minutes later once i go back to the previous area all the guards have respawned and are standing in their programmed areas.
So I don't think it'll get better and it's not worth anyone's time, i really enjoyed the movies but Indiana jones time has past and a game was never gonna translate well unless, i mena the whole combat system isn't satisfying at all especially when you compare the brawling to a game like RDR2 where you see the damage your hits inflict and it's much more dynamic.
@Coletrain agreed, I haven’t spent so much time checking the surroundings in ages, some of the later levels are spectacular.
Would have ez given Indy my GOTY, but unfortunately have come across a game breaking bug with no fix so far except to restart a whole new playthrough.
It occurred on spawning into the 2nd to last lvl of the game. For some reason the 'up - down' on the right thumbstick (look) is locked and just won't work.
Tried different controllers and reload but no joy.
I managed to speed run the lvl after a few goes and made it to the last lvl, hoping after cutscene and reload would work.
Nope, still broke- and remains broke even when revisiting earlier lvls.
Unplayable until patched.
@JustinTimberlake You do realise your opinion isn't factual? ..I am by no means an Indiana Jones fan....and I started the game up the other day and find it quite enjoyable..and clearly the majority do
