Friday The 13th Game Now Officially Offline A Year After Xbox Store Shutdown

In an era where server closures and storefront shutdowns seem to be all too common, another Xbox multiplayer title has bitten the dust this week. A year to the day since publisher Gun Media pulled the game from all major digital storefronts, Friday the 13th: The Game went offline for good recently ahead of the new year.

Yep, back in 2023, the team announced this game's impending demise; at the time stating that the servers would be live until "at least December 31st, 2024". Well, that date has now come and gone - and the Friday the 13th's servers have indeed now closed.

However, what was left of the game's online community did have one last laugh earlier this week. Posted on social media the other day, you can see fans having a good old dance on Jason's grave - just prior to the title going offline on Xbox and all other platforms.

*Headphone warning, these are some loud-ass parties.

Friday the 13th: The Game initially launched for Xbox One back in 2017, providing some competition for fellow multiplayer horror title Dead by Daylight at the time. The latter, with its near-unlimited amount of spooky crossovers, has outlasted Jason and his cronies in the end. We guess all we can say now is, R.I.P. Friday the 13th, you and your jank will surely be missed.
